Default YOUR top 5: Best albums of all time

I've been thinking about this for the last few months, finally ready to post. it feels you HAVE to say the Beatles are obviously the best band ever are your a fucking idiot. the 'boss' is the best live guy ever, or you suck. the foo fighters are great because everyone loves them. fuck all that. it's all relative. are the Beatles the first one? sure. have the Stones been around for 5 decades? sure. but that doesn't stop the fact that if i were given free front row tix, i wouldn't even consider going to any of the aforementioned bands concerts. nothing against them or their fans. i'm just not one of them i believe Van Halen is the best band that has ever walked the planet. for me. not for history books . oh yeah, can't stand U2 either.

my point ?? i want YOUR opinion of the best 5 cd's ever made. not what it's politically correct to say. YOUR top 5 !!

Mine (All Mine) are as follows:

    Van Halen - Van Halen
    Metallica - Master of Puppets
    Pearl Jam - Ten
Guns n Roses - Appetite for Destruction
    Van Halen - 1984
...AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY, GOD CREATED VAN HALEN

    VAN HALEN IS A LIFESTYLE

Seriously, though, for free front row tickets, you should see the Beatles or the Stones whether you like 'em or not. It's a history thing.

My top five albums of all time? Probably too hard to even attempt that, but if I limit it to classic rock ONLY..?

    Van Halen Fair Warning
    Rush Signals
    The Police Synchronicity
    Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti
    The Doors (debut)

This is almost impossible, but ...

    Van Halen - Van Halen
    Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
    Eagles - Hotel California
    Beatles - The White Album
Aerosmith - Toys In The Attic
"It's so lonely at the top because it's so crowded at the bottom" - Diamond David Lee Roth

"The truth sounds like hate to those who hate the truth" - Todd Wagner

"Women and Children First ... The REAL Van Halen III"

    In no certain order

Derek and the Dominoes - Layla and other assorted Love songs

Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears

Guns N Roses - Appetite for Destruction

Van Halen - Van Halen II

    Alter Bridge - Blackbird

    __________________

    Honorable mention

Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast

    Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime

    Def Leppard - Pyromania

    Foo Fighters - Wasting Light

In all honesty, any of the above could be in my top 5. I know that answer sucks.

I can remember my dad wearing out the 8-track of Carole King's Tapestry on those long car drives on our family vacations back in the early 70's. Great album.

If you're gonna take a Police album, would it be cheating to say Message In A Box (or does that count as four?)

LOL, I think that's cheating. But if we're talking box sets, that's a whole new ball game.

It's hard for me to choose Synchronicity over Outlandos. Synchronicity simply has more coming of age sentimentality with it. If I were to remove the personal attachment, I'd have to go with the debut. Ghost is so good too.

Heck, I'm of the opinion that the Police are one of the few outfits who never made a bad album. They only have five, granted, but all five are so stellar in their own rights.

And further, I think Certifiable is one of the best live albums ever. Criminally underrated.

Number Of The Beast - Maiden
    Facelift - AIC
    Physical Graffiti

Hard not to put a Beatles or ACDC album but best I could do.
