I just heard this song for the first time. Let me just say WHOLLY SHIT!!! This song has got to be the BEST DLR solo song I have ever heard. It is very Van Halen-like. Damn this woulda sounded great if they'da done it. WHOAOH, I SAY MOMMA, A LIL AINT ENOUGH FOR ME!

Dude I can't believe you just now heard this song. It's definatly one of Dave's best solo efforts. Yes, it is very Van Halenish and yes you know it would have sounded great if the rest of VH had recorded it with him. Now I'm gonna have to go listen to it again; it's been a few months since I last did.

The whole ALAE album is by far the best solo album that Dave ever put out. It seemed like he was turning away from the guitar aerobics with Vai to more solid songwriting. Which I think it's why it's my favorite, it's alot like Van Halen because Eddie never let his guitar craziness get in the way of the song itself.

This isn't a slam at Steve Vai BTW.

ALAE is definitely some of Dave's best work. Both the album and the tune. All sorts of good stuff in there! Take a half hour to go to your local used shop and dig it up. You won't regret it!

I really love that song too! I would say it's my third favorite DLR solo song behind Just Like Paradise and of course Yankee Rose!!!

ALAE is great album AND song

unfortunatly It looks like it'll never get the platinum album it just scraped over the line for

It's a pity really - for a guy whos solo career is often kicked around as a joke or flop, Dave producing 3 consecutive platinum albums is pretty damn good.. I honestly think a lot of people are WAY too harsh on Daves solo career personally.

Anyways moving this to the vh songs/albums. I know DLR solo isnt van halen, but all the solo works are included in that catagory.

That would be 4 if you count CFTH, and I'll bet if the certification were up-dated on those albums, some of them would be multi-platinum.

If the re-union goes ahead, DLR will become mega-famous again, and I can see WB. re-releasing ALAE and YFLM again, then at last ALAE will be declared Platinum and I will be one happy camper cos its one mofo of an album.

Yep another one of my favorite Dave solo tunes. Always puts a smile on your face, and makes you sing that song for a least a day or two. Out.

Yeh I omitted CFTH coz then your open to 'thats not an album thats an EP' kinda arguments

Then again Sam seems to claim the 'top gun' soundtrack as a solo album, so.. whatever LOL

Goo, what do you mean Sammy claims the Top Gun Soundtrack album as a solo album?

I have that album and Sammy isn't on it.
I definately would count Crazy From The Heat as a album too.

I think maybe Goo was referring to the Footloose soundtrack.
