Default Michael Anthony: Chickenfoot back on track!

"Chickenfoot has released two albums, the most recent in 2011, and is still an ongoing project.

'It was going to be an open-ended hiatus where nothing was going to happen,” Anthony says. “All of a sudden, there are a few demos being passed around now, and a couple of ideas are being thrown out. Sammy has been laying some lyrics down. I am not going to say that anything is set in stone, but there are a couple demos that are starting to be worked on that we are going to actively pursue with the band.'"

The foot has been on and off again so many times recently in the press, guess we'll have to wait and see.

I really hope we get another Chickenfoot record. That band is fantastic. I loved both records, but if I could combine the two with the following songs, I think we would be talking a Grammy.

    Avenida Revolucion
    Soap on a Rope
    Sexy Little Thing
    Oh Yeah
    My Kind of Girl
    Learning to Fall
    Future in the Past
    Different Devil
    Lighten Up
    Come Closer
    Bigfoot
    Something Gone Wrong

I don't want to get too optimistic, but this sounds like progress. Maybe Sam has been reading some of the forums here and recognizes that the fans really do want, and would appreciate more Chickenfoot.

I think it's more like Sam saw Joe's comments to the press and didn't take the finger pointing at him too well. Ah well, whatever gets more CF

With Satch, there's no ego tripping, it's not Van Halen. Satch just wanted to get CF going, and called Sammy out. No bs. Good if Sammy finally realized he had to do something.

Coz like it or not, most bands still release albums. AC/DC, Whitesnake, Judas Priest, Rush - most of Sam's "colleagues" from the era he had his success are still coming up with new music. In a way, ironically, they are responding to the question Sammy put forward in 1997: "Would you do it for free?" For most of them, the answer is a resounding YES.

I hope it's true. I would buy a new CF record in a heartbeat.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

Sam's got the energy and drive to have multiple bands, covering a variety of styles going and the regular changes in pace might be what's needed to bring out more creativity in him.

When he was 50 years old, I would agree with that statement. At 68, not so much. I'm not discounting the guy but I have definitely tempered my expectations over the last few years.

It's more a question of creative energy than physical energy, when it comes to writing a record. He started writing lyrics again, so it seems there's is some sparkle there.

I would love another CF album but I was let down with the CFIII album. It wasn't rockin' enough for me. I wanted something that kicked me in the gut but I felt we got watered down soft rock except for a few good tunes.

for the good news. Still enough chance that it will go nowhere, but this is the best CF news in quite a while.

And for your comment. Satch is a bag full of ideas, and I am glad that the two albums sound differently. I hope the new album gives us a new twist on the Foot.

There are Satch songs that defy classification, that are neither heavy, nor pop, nor mellow, shit like "Hords of Locusts."
