    Default Calling Jedi McFly....

A while back in one of the threads you linked to a guy who described Ed's delay settings ( 400ms and 800ms).

Right at the start of this vid:

Is that the delay you're talking about?
    Cheers

That's definitely a stereo delay, but probably isn't 400/800. Off the top of my head I'd guess that may be a 250/500. You can tell because you hear the quick repeat in the beginning, but then it halves and slowly fades out. In this context its used to thicken up the overall guitar tone.

A good example of the 400ms/800ms delay would be at 1:36 of this video (and a lot of other dive bombs in the song). It's just got a higher mix to be used as an effect rather than thickening up the tone.

Thanks mate- that link was a great find. 400/800 seems a bit more musical than the 250/500 when using the detuner. One thing I've never been able to work out though is; are his wet cabs a 50/50 mix of dry and effects or 100% wet. So one side would be the -9cent detune signal ONLY with a 250 or 400ms delay or is it a 50/50 mix of -9 cent detune with dry sound then on into the delay?
Hope this makes sense- it's 4 in the morning....ughhhh!

I've never experiemented with a WDW set up, but as I understand it the wet cabs in this case would be 100% wet. So one wet cab would be -9 cents detuned w/ 250ms delay while the other would be +9 cents detuned with the 500ms delay. No dry/unaltered signal coming through them. This way the FOH engineer can dial in the tones appropriately for the house mix.
