The numbers are so huge in the federal budget people can't imagine them.

Trump had to spend 60 times that just compensating US farmers for the hit they took from his tariffs on China last time.

Musk's companies get $38 000 000 000 from the Federal government at the moment and that's before Trump gives him more of your money.

Trump's new cryptocurrency means that anyone - Musk, Putin, China, the Saudi's can give Trump as much money as they want and no one will ever know.

He provides value for the Space X program and other work that Musk's companies are doing for the government. Space X for example is accomplishing what NASA couldn't at a fraction of the the cost.

He might be whatever anyone says about him, but in getting satellites in orbit with frequency and at an affordable price, he excels.

Trump unleashes more tariff threats as trade war tensions mount

President Donald Trump took aim at the European Union on Thursday, calling it a "hostile and abusive taxing and tariffing authority" and threatening a 200% tariff on alcohol from EU nations.

Also Thursday, Canada's finance minister and other officials will meet with U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in an effort to calm an escalating global trade war ignited by tariffs the Trump administration slapped on steel and aluminum imports from around the world.

Trump ratcheted up tariff threats against the United States' trading partners this week, and Canada and the European Union quickly hit back with their own retaliatory levies.

The back-and-forth has sparked uncertainty that has driven U.S. stocks lower and fueled fears of a recession. J.P. Morgan's chief economist said Wednesday that there is a 40% chance of a U.S. recession in 2025. Stocks were down again Thursday in early trading.

Americans are also closely watching the Trump administration's efforts to shrink the federal government, led by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency. Thursday marks a critical deadline for national agencies, which must submit plans for large-scale layoffs as part of the White House's effort.

Market down 10% since Trump starting yapping about tariffs on Feb 1. Usually, presidents don't have this sort of direct impact on the markets, but the current slide is being referred to the Trump market correction in the finance world. He's about as popular as crotch rot.

Good opportunity to invest more once it bottoms out...Can't make $$ when everything is at 52-week highs! Yesterday was the dead cat bounce - saw it from a mile away..

Personally, I'm down about 10k-11k since Feb with approx. 250k invested so I'm beating the averages... Curious how everyone else is doing? I lost at least 3x that amount in 2 weeks when Covid hit...

Ride the wave. Life is too short to worry about market corrections.

Market correction. That phrase reminds me of George Carlin's bit on Soft Language. This is economic chaos, which will ultimately result in an economic crisis the likes we haven't seen for a while.
