I listened to an interview with respected historian Douglas Brinkley today. He was asked about Trump's legacy. He replied that Trump would be remembered along the same lines as Benedict Arnold and Jefferson Davis. While I agree, somewhat, it really was an insulting comment to Arnold and Davis.

I kind of disagree, the failed vaccine rollout is squarely Trumps fault. If he had paid even an ounce of attention to this over the last three months, maybe we wouldn’t look like a kindergartner trying to read Shakespeare on this.
Where’s FEMA, Where’s the National Guard, where’s the Military, where are the funds for States to do this?
Maybe if he wasn’t peddling outrageous bullshit conspiracy theories for 3 months we’d be in better shape. Maybe if he hadn’t disregarded every fricking experienced infectious disease experts and started listen to a radiologist and the my pillow guy we’d be in better shape.
No task force briefings, he hadn’t even acknowledged a pandemic is happening while he has been screaming this stolen election crap. He is where the Buck stops and on all fronts in relation to Covid, he’s failed more than most of his businesses. His idea of winning is Detroit Lion like

Read the WSJ article I linked.

The CDC wanted to give states the playbook in June and start helping them plan.

Warp Speed said no, to explore other options.

Then they approved the same basic plan in August only to then delay it two weeks further to put it out with another document.

So the CDC thought states needed help to start planning in June. That got delayed to September for, it turns out, no reason at all.

That gave states half the time to plan than the CDC believed they needed.

And then the states totally fucked up, too.

There is a very small voice in my head that keeps telling me Trump isn't done yet, that he is going to do something over the next three days to throw a wrench in everything.

Thank God our military leaders see him for what he is and want nothing to do with him. If he had been able to hypnotize them as he has others, we would NOT be having a peaceful transfer of power this week. I truly believe that.

Just to give you a different perspective to think about, for many, I think it is simply hard to think of people still being that way.

Or maybe, it simply makes people feel better to think there really aren't people like that.

It still makes me think "how?" when I see pictures like we saw from the capital of guys wearing "Camp Auschwitz" or "Six Million Weren't Enough" shirts.

Like meeting a woman that doesn't give head, you look at them thinking "they still make you?" (yes, stolen from Chris Rock )

There are good and bad people Darrin. When people make blanket statements about things, whatever or whomever it may be towards, people take it as a slight sometimes. It’s human. And unfortunately, society seems to encourage this. Both spectrums. Politicians, whichever animal you support, have been encouraging this. So have celebrities.

When people start listening to them instead of their conscience, that’s when the trouble starts.
