You mean like young Bill Clinton and Barry Obama? This country won't ever have a great president of substance again.

I think the average person just can't comprehend trillions.
I don’t claim to be the smartest guy on earth, but why would someone need instructions on a butt plug? Step 1, lube. Step 2, put it in your ass.

They are two of the most intelligent men to ever serve as POTUS. The U.S. and the American people did fairly well under the leadership of those chaps.

Intelligence is great but the line from the financial world .."Past performance does not guarantee future results" holds true.

The dot com bust. The 2008 near depression. The revoking of Glass / Steagle. ACA quadrupling medical premiums . Selling out Israel to Iran. Let's not leave out Bush Jrs blunders too costing trillions more. And now Trump's folly of tariffs and doge to lower taxes. Ironically Bidens one term after the covid bounce back and rising savings rates made me money and I locked in over ten years . So no intelligence there needed. Peace ,love and prosperity to you always

A lot of good things happened under Clinton's watch but his last couple years even putting aside the sex scandal, the moves and non-moves he made left us wide open for what would become 9/11.

    Default Ultra Processed Foods

Thousands of middle-aged people in Britain are dying prematurely every year as a result of ultra-processed foods, a study has suggested.

Researchers analysed the diets of eight countries then estimated the number of deaths linked to an over-reliance on foods such as ready meals, confectionery, fizzy drinks and processed meat.

The study, published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, said that about 18,000 deaths in people aged 30 to 69 could be prevented each year in Britain if people ate less ultra-processed foods (UPFs).

The term refers to mass-produced foods with multiple ingredients and additives that could not be created in a home kitchen. UPFs make up more than half of the typical British diet.

Diets high in UPF have been linked to an increased risk of 32 different diseases, including diabetes, cancer, heart disease, obesity and depression.

I hate this kind of reporting, without context, that heavily implies, especially the headling and first paragraph, that it's the fact that they are processed that is the biggest problem. Processed foods aren't inherently bad, and they are actually good, in many ways. That doesn't mean there aren't trade-offs.

"The term refers to mass-produced foods with multiple ingredients and additives that could not be created in a home kitchen." Yes, and for poor people, fortified processed foods have allowed the global poor to consume an adequate calorie count and get the nutrients you used to only be able to get in a diet of perishable meats, fruits, and vegetables.

But they also "often contain high levels of saturated fat, salt and sugar and when we eat them, we leave less room in our diets for more nutritious foods."

Notice, in the article above, it says, "Diets high in UPF have been linked to an increased risk of 32 different diseases, including diabetes, cancer, heart disease, obesity and depression." That doesn't mean the fact that they are processed is the cause. In fact, it's much more likely it's the fat, salt, and sugar. Also, don't forget, "Scientists have pointed out that people who consume lots of UPF are also more likely to have other unhealthy habits, such as smoking or not exercising, which can lead to death."

Yes, there could be something to how the body absorbs, say, a whole nut versus being ground down and oils released. And we should totally look into it.

But it's not until paragraphs 17 and 18 that they point out:

"Nerys Astbury, an associate professor in diet and obesity at the University of Oxford, said: 'It’s been established for some time … that consuming diets higher in energy, fat and sugar can have detrimental effects on health, including premature mortality.

'This study adds to the body of evidence on the association between UPF and ill health and disease. However, many UPF tend to be high in these nutrients and studies to date have been unable to determine with certainty whether the effects of UPF are independent of the already established effects of diets high in foods which are energy dense and contain large amounts of fat and sugar.'"

Anyway, important not to overreact to or walk away with a false understanding of the underlying issue and why these foods are both good and bad. And that is especially difficult with that headline and the first paragraph: "Thousands of middle-aged people in Britain are dying prematurely every year as a result of ultra-processed foods, a study has suggested."

But the 'clicks' that headline generated are more important than anything else.
