Whether or not the virus was wet market or in a lab SHOULD be open to discussion and investigation. I understand it occurred in China and information is more difficult to obtain then lets say Germany. However lets not kid ourselves. We have intelligence officers in every part of the world. Our FBI, CIA, NSA and CDC all knew that the first document case was within a hundred or so yards from the lab. There was a lab creating the virus. Ok its a possibility then right? Nope. The FBI, DOJ and pressed on social media to censor discussion of this. That's not right. Especially when we found out that insiders believed it was a lab leak from the get go. Yet they lied and then forced media to cover up said lie.

Then the vaccine. Most reasonable people knew that it was not going to prevent you from catching it. However Fauci, Biden, etc the media claimed it would protect you from catching it. 70% of Democrats wanted to put people in camps if they didn't get it. Discussion of the possible health side effects were shut down as lies. Again no discussion. We were lied to. Then the kicker was that Biden tried to fire people if they didn't get it. All for a vaccine that likely 90% of people on this board have not gotten a booster for at least a year or two. There are side effects and yes people died. Not millions but a good amount of people had serious issues. Friend of mine still isn't right from it. Not saying that you ban the vaccine but there is a variance between believing 100% or denial. Discussion of it though was banned.


We were told Hunters laptop was conspiracy theory. 54 of our finest inteligence officers claimed it likely was a Russian hoax. Find out they knew full well it was real yet they lied to influence an election. DOJ and FIB then worked with social media to shut down discussion of said laptop. That's not right.

We were told that Biden was fit as fiddle. In fact weeks before the debate we were told everyhing negative was a deep fake. DPJ claimed it so. So did the media outlets for the DNC. Biden was the sharpest person in the room. Right wing conspiracy. Then the debate happened. We know the rest

Yes, the wet market vs lab theory was, and still somewhat is, unclear. I'm not scientist but I've heard/read arguments regarding both theories. And to my untrained ears, both sound reasonable--so I still don't know. It was only recently that I read where the virus first appeared in a person at the wet market after it was known that there was a virus going around. I still blame China for the world never getting the absolute truth about this. It's fucking ridiculous.

zig, are you saying something negative about Trump's successful vaccine?? I thought we knew that the vaccine wouldn't absolutely prevent you from catching it, just that it was lessen the severity of any symptoms. It's been mentioned here a lot, but the side effects of the vaccine are nothing compared to the side effects of the actual virus.

As far as Hunter goes--I admit to never investing any time into learning about his case(s). I just don't care about him. Another month and hopefully we'll be done hearing about his irrelevant existence.

I think a big problem is that these cable "news" channels put their opinionated programs on in the primetime hours. Those get the most eyeballs and they're basically just editorials. Not actual news, but news with a political slant. In that sense, none of them, including Fox, is "fair and balanced."

Dominion claimed defamation because FOX allowed Trump’s lawyers to come on air and say they believed the company rigged the election.

In other words, they interviewed them. Hate to break it to you, that’s not illegal. That’s why you have opposing views, in a courtroom that’s a plaintiff and a defendant.

The idea that merely having someone on to be interviewed and state their belief is somehow ‘defamation’ is insane. Might as well get rid of the first amendment and freedom of the press .

It is up to the individual viewer to decide if they want to watch a ‘hard news’ program or an analysis program. The network can’t come to the viewer’s house and tell them which is which. If a person can’t tell the difference and/or critically think that’s on them.

Fox was always a little inflated because they didn't have to share the conservative marketplace with any other substantive network (OAN and NewsMax don't count), while there are lots of options for the liberal viewer.

Fox settled because they thought Dominion had a shot at winning. There is a reason the settlement happened after discovery.

Discovery uncovered damaging evidence that corroborated Dominion's claims. It was information Dominion didn't previously have. The reason some people say showing "actual malice" is hard is the standard before discovery is pretty high. In this case, the judge didn't throw out the case when Fox asked, and discovery proceeded. After evidence was handed over, that's when the settlement happened.

As Maria Bartiromo, Tucker Carlson, Lou Dobbs, Sean Hannity, and Jeanine Pirro had Sydney Powell and Giulliani on and not doing a whole lot of pushback, at best, producers and journalists behind the scenes were talking. They called the claims "really crazy," "comic book stuff," "MIND BLOWINGLY NUTS," "insane," "unbelievably offensive," and "complete bullshit." Powell was descrivbed as a "crazy would be lawyer," and "a complete nut. Tucker Carlson even wrote, ""Sidney Powell is lying," yet he was much less emphatic on air, when he said he had doubts about her story. Other backroom texts were that her story "doesn't make sense" and seemed to be "losing her mind."

These ongoing discussions (some hosts did not actually push back at all) are damning evidence of "actual malice." Not saying they would have won, but Fox sure that it was a possibility. Even before, public knowledge suggested Fox was, at minimum, willfully blind about the overwhelming and conclusive evidence that this was all wrong.

There is and there has been independent polling done in the past that shows this. Again, it is up to the individual viewer.

This is why I'm not a Republican, and it's why I'm done with this party once Trump is gone. This party will squander all of the ground Trump has made with minorities and the youth vote by doing nothing over the next 4 years.

As overhyped as George Carlin was, he was right about the red and blue parties (largely) being one big club. Not that it takes a lot of brains to figure it out.
