I never said it was foolish or a conspiracy. I was inferring that China using an app that is predominantly used by young people to make short funny videos, to spy on people...while a sexy headline and might be true....isn't much different than anything else that's going on when you post on FB, IG, youTube or anywhere else on the Internet. If it's happening it should be investigated, just like any other cyber crime. Is it worth freaking out over? Probably not.

Your safest bet to not being spied on or hacked is to not own a smart phone or computer. If you own and use any of those devices, somebody has the ability to spy on you and hack your information. If you Google search something, it's being tracked. If you use online banking, rest assured there is a hacker group out there right now trying to get into your bank's encrypted system.

Pro Tip: Put a piece of tape over your laptop camera when you're peeling your salami. Because at any moment, that light might come on and Hop Sing might get a peek.

In all seriousness though, if you have a laptop camera put a piece of tape over it because it is ridiculously and scarily easy for somebody to hack it and turn it on without you knowing it's on.

I'd argue that any normal person would go out of their way to shelter their young children from the media and photographers. But your mileage may vary.

The difference between the ABC News app and Tik Tok is simply who owns and what purpose the data is used for. Our IC believes that Tik Tok copying what you have in your photos, videos, and Notepad/etc (where a lot of people keep their passwords) is a security risk.

Yes, pretty much every person on here has had our data from our phone copied. If you've been in a major city with any federal presence, the contents of your phone have been copied multiple times, it's just a fact.

But let's not make it so easy for them, especially for something that is so stupid like Tik Tok.

Agreed, but I meant in comparison to prior Presidents. Obama’s Daughters were in the public eye more, if I’m not mistaken. Clinton’s Daughter was seen more.

It was like Baron didn’t exist for 4 years.

It's a lot easier to punish some small business for certain policies than it is Amazon.
