I feel blessed that we're not stuck with his lunacy. But I do have a few American friends who are caught up in that circus. My concern is for them.

So how do you account for the reported massive spike in numbers here in California, especially LA under the Liberal Governor and Liberal Mayor? And if you wanna go full on "Blood On His Hands," look no further than New Yorks' own governor Cuomo who *ordered* otherwise virus-free nursing and rehab facilities to take in infected patients which >shock of shocks< led to a massive spike in deaths among the elderly in NY. Meanwhile, NY had one of the medical ships that sat mostly unused as well as huge temp sites that also remained mostly idle.

Anyway, the problem is, he ran as a Republican. (And the same problem exists for the Democrats and Bernie, sure.)

The average center-left or independent doesnít just go, oh, thatís not what Republicans and conservatives are *really* about; heís a populist. No, heís the de facto leader of the party.

And it isnít just Trump. Republicans have been as shitty on SS and Medicare as the left. But itís a mixed message of these two, socialist entities are a bedrock of America, but socialism is bad.

I get it, they are popular. Which should tell Republicans something. Maybe the fight isnít just to point at the other side and say ďsocialism,Ē but to explain why those two programs are in danger and should be phased into something different. No new program like those because theyíre disasters in the making.

A Nike store having been looted, while a preoccupying instance of vandalism, does not equate to a "city being destroyed." No American city has been destroyed. A statue being torn down, that's not the same as the destruction of a city.
My guess is some feelings have been destroyed or trampled on. And we're in this new era of "feeling politics," where numbers don't count anymore, and it's all about who can annoy their opponents the most. It's generally rebranded as "standing up to the politicians in Washington." Both parties have used that sentence.

Pretty simple. Even liberal states didn't quarantine strictly enough, or early enough. You need police-enforced quarantine. That's what they did in Europe, and now these guys are fully reopened. You had to tough it out for 2 months. If you got out for anything other that getting groceries, you got a hefty fine. Police was patrolling the street. Instead, we have here a wishy-washy "soft quarantine" that will have to go on for months and months to get any results.
The alternative to all this would've been to start earlier like some other countries did, like NZ and Korea. A few days early would've saved a lot of lives.

CT has done a good job with the quarantine and reopening things cautiously. Probably not fast enough for some who have been hurt money wise and I understand that. But medically, the quarantine helped flatten the curve.

Youíre still complaining about that? News flash, no one cares anymore. Itís all about black lives matter and destroying shit. Guess what, the lack of condemnation and the condoning of this by your party will cause more harm than good.

If you want to bury your head in the sand go for it, but the people you root for are fucking up worse than trump could even think about.

Afghanistan war: Trump got written briefing on 'Russia bounties', reports say

ēRussia has denied the initial reports while the Taliban said it had not done any deal with Russian intelligence. The allegations come as Mr Trump seeks re-election in the November poll.

ēOn Monday, the New York Times, citing two unnamed US officials, said the intelligence assessment had been included in the President's Daily Brief report - a written document with key government intelligence - in late February.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53231840

Smells a lot like The Steele dossier, doesn't it?

So, if Trump wins a second term... is this what will be investigated for three years with absolutely no outcome.

In Canada we've done a bunch right on this. Our Prime Minister and Premieres worked together. We have benefits to people negatively impacted by COVID to ensure they don't have undo financial burden - so there isn't the if I dont work, I dont eat mentality. We were a lot faster in implementing lockdown policies before many area's in the US. It also helps that our population isn't as dense as the US; in our larger denser area's (Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal) - our rates of infection were certainly higher, however per captia less than their counterparts down south.

New York was hit HARD b/c of the travel...sure The Orange Man shut down travel from China - but by the time this happened, it was more Italy, Spain, UK, France and Germany that were the concerns. I've no idea what's happening in California and why growth is so rampant there again. I'm assuming it's the large homeless population - but can't be sure.
Winners come and go; legends are forever.

Mike Pence again refuses to say ‘Black Lives Matter’ - mentions ‘unborn lives’ instead

During an appearance on CBS News’ Face the Nation this Sunday, Vice President Mike Pence once again was confronted with the question of whether or not Black lives matter, and once again he refused to answer the question, saying that the American people “don’t need to chose between supporting law enforcement and supporting our African-American neighbors.”

Host John Dickerson told Pence that one thing protesters want to hear political leaders say is “Black Lives Matter.”

“You won’t say that,” Dickerson said. “Why?”

“All my life, I’ve been inspired by the example of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr,” Pence replied. “When I was in Congress, I traveled to his home church in Montgomery with Congressman John Lewis. I walked across the Edmund Pettus Bridge on the anniversary of Bloody Sunday.”

“I cherish the progress that we have made for African-Americans throughout our history,” Pence continued. “And I’ve aspired throughout my career to be a part of that ongoing work. It’s really a heart issue for me. And as a pro-life Americans, I also believe that all lives matter, born and the unborn.”

Pence then went on to criticize BLM for the ‘defund the police’ slogan that’s been disseminated by various activists and Twitter figures, calling it a “political agenda of the radical left.”

“Leave that out of it,” Dickerson interjected. “Just the phrase.”

Pence replied the Black Lives Matter movement “would tear down monuments, that would press a radical left agenda and support calls for the kind of violence that has beset the very communities that they’ve said they are advocating for.”

“I’ve literally met with African-American leaders who made it clear to us they want law and order, they want peace in our streets,” Pence added.

“So, you won’t say Black lives matter?” Dickerson asked.

“John, I really believe that all lives matter,” Pence repeated. “That’s where the heart of the American people lies.”

Pence similarly dodged the same question during an interview last Friday with a Philadelphia ABC affiliate. Pence was asked repeatedly if he’ll say the phrase “Black Lives Matter,” and each time he refused, at one point even saying “all lives matter.”

Good for Pence not buckling to the pressure. I kind of remember the left loudly tooting the horn for anti bullying back in the day. Do as we say... not as we do.

I look at Trump like the Corona Virus or the the protests/riots. If I follow everything that is said daily, it will consume me. I will get pissed off about a comment, a tweet, a story, etc and it will fester. I will need to make my opinion known and then escalate. However at the end of the day, did I change anything? Did I fix the isssue? Nope. Just wasted a ton of energy on something. Maybe in time Corona will get me or a family member. Maybe in time I will get singled out by Antifa or a BLM protester. Until then, just realize I am truly powerless to make change in the short term

My only chance to have any power is to vote in November. I live in a swing state. That said given the choice between

    a) Trump
    b) my "pat myself on the back" vote for a 3rd party candidate so I can say "hey don't blame me....I voted for X"
    c) Biden

B and C likely will directly impact me in a negative way. An already struggling economy will go tits up in this pandemic. Taxes will go up. I am not in the demographic for the Democrat party. I don't subscribe to their litmus test. So yeah I probably will vote for Trump regardless of what I want. Especially if the Senate goes blue. It will be the death of this country. No slippery slope here. Seeing what our government has done during Covid 19 and now add the entire Legislative and Executive branch to people who don't really believe in the Constitution......too scary to think about. Not saying the old Democrats but these new Democrats. If they had their way, they would tear it up.
