I don't believe anybody is out to get me. When I talk about conspiracy, I'm talking about credibility, I guess. Who's more credible? The one giving me the "facts" ? Or the one disputing those "facts"? There's truth in both, I would say.

I sure as hell do not trust our government agencies. I dont like "we'll here's the data from the CDC." "Here's the data from the FEC...open and shut, etc. Swallow it whole. That's the evidence, folks. "

I don't think it's right to criticize people for not trusting the government.

Reasonably…reasonably questioning your government is not the same as thinking everything is a conspiracy. Those are two very different things.

And yes, I think there are hordes of people who believe every fucking thing is a conspiracy now. Everything.

And yes, I think there are a lot of people who are standing with their backs against the door, holding their AR-15’s thinking the government is coming to get them. The paranoia is out of control.

I think the growing number of people who believe more and more “conspiracies” nowadays is because there have been multiple instances of late where the media and some Government agencies have blatantly pushed narratives and been caught with their knickers down after it’s come out that they were false.

Narratives that seemed to be established and factual have, in some instances, crumbled showing them to be completely drummed up or patently false.

And for a growing number of people, they just don’t know what or who to believe anymore, to the point where anything seems plausible.

The advent of social media in our daily lives has been a main culprit as well.

The thing that has made conspiracy theories more prevalent is the amount of spare fucking time people have. It's why this shit exploded during the lockdowns. My answer to most is I don't know nor really care

I don’t think spare time has increased by a significant margin (pandemic aside) over the last 25 years. Hell, people believed the JFK assassination was a conspiracy back in the 70’s and 80’s.

It’s what people do now with the spare time they have that has changed.

Social Media has rotted peoples brains to the point where anything they see on it becomes a possibility because there have been clear instances where we’ve been blatantly lied to by the very institutions we believed 25 years ago.

Covid didn’t help. But it wasn’t the cause.

Social Media is available 24/7. Whenever you want. Feeding you whatever it is you want.

    That’s the culprit.

I would bet the percentage of people susceptible to believing in conspiracies is fairly static. What's changed is how easily they can get together, talk, and exchange ideas. Used to be library bulletin boards, letters to the editor, newsletters, etc., and now it's YouTube and Facebook groups. But I don't think you're convincing an increasing number of people. The same people are just louder, with acces to the same megaphone as just about anyone else.

I just see shit as this, if the explanation doesn’t make sense, something is up.

Covid? Who knows. Didn’t really affect me.

Epstein? The guy is dead. That’s all that matters.

Trump assassination? Just inept, lackadaisical, idiotic incompetence. That’s been known to happen in government work. Ask JFK.

Reports from our government? Well it depends on who you ask that day on what numbers you get. DD has told us several times that they only use certain criteria to come up with certain reports and not the whole pictures.

And lastly, if my reality is different than what the government is telling me, I just don’t believe them. It’s like the boy who cried wolf. And you only get so many mulligans.

JFK was something else all together when compared to the Trump assassination attempt. That was a cover-up. Plain and simple for those with their eyes open.

Until more evidence comes out, the assassination attempt on Trump was just a fucked-up kid combined with lax security.

My question is do we still have the problem of lack of inter-agency cooperation. Right after the assassination attempt, FBI Director Wray testified before Congress (maybe it was only the Senate, can't remember), and if memory serves, he talked about known intent by state and non-state actors to assassinate US political leaders. With that being a known, was that shared with the Secret Service?

The main response to 9-11, besides a shitty report, was that our agencies that are designed to keep America safe don't talk to each other, that their information is silo'd. That is why the Office of the Director of National Intelligence was stood up over the Intelligence Community, and why the Department of Homeland Security was stood up as well. To try and get everyone to talk to each other.

My personal opinion, and one that I feel is widely held, is that really didn't happen, and all we did was make two more bloated federal bureaucracies that duplicate efforts. But that's just me.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

The longer I work in government, the more I am convinced that it was a rogue element of one of intelligence agencies/military. No proof, just an opinion.

I hold out to the possibility it was LHO, but I don't think that guy was up to it, I think he was a patsy, especially since he was killed before being able to stand trial. That was hella convenient.

Yes, Ruby put a tanker truck full of gasoline on the conspiracy fire when he killed LHO.

Again, I don't think Ruby would've been the one chosen (hired) to take out LHO, if a conspiracy is to be believed. And as soon as that happened Ruby would've been taken out, and not by the cancer that killed him years later.

    Of course, just my opinion.
