So the answer is to legally, let MORE than 10,000 a year come here?
Ok...how much more?
Can we be selective?
Give me a number.

The overall problem is that we are limiting supply somewhat arbitrarily when there is great demand.
Take drugs. We have completely prohibited them, but there is great demand, so people have found a way around it (and it has destroyed parts of Mexico). I mean, are you more than two people separated from someone that can get you any drug you want? I mean, I'm not in that world, but I have a friend who smokes pot, and he buys from a guy, and I guarantee you he knows people that can get you more than pot. So I am two degrees from it.
Well, how can this possibly be? We've prohibited it. Well, you can't do that with great demand or you get a black market. Illegal immigration is simply another black market.
We also know that walls won't stop them. We have walls up. It doesn't stop them. The endure much worse to get here than walls.
So if capping it at 10,000 doesn't work and walls don't work, and extortion, rape, death, imprisonment, deportation, being a drug mule, the list goes on--impediments that we don't put there but are there anyway--then what will it take?
Annexing Mexico. Of course, we'd have to do that by force, and good luck convincing Americans to go to war with the ally to the south. Otherwise, we're stuck with the status quo, spending a ton of money to not stop it, or make the process easier.
What is the right number? I don't know. I don't think anyone knows. That's why central planning doesn't work. But I do know that making it impossible to get here doesn't work.

TRUMP MEETS WITH FAMILIES OF AMERICANS KILLED BY ILLEGAL ALIENS
10 Jul 2015
Donald Trump is meeting Friday afternoon with several family members of Americans killed due to the actions of foreign nationals illegally present in the United States.
Trump is meeting, as of this writing, with the family of Jamiel Shaw Jr., Sabine Durden, Don Rosenberg, Lupe Moreno, Brenda Sparks, Robin Hvidston and their spouses in Los Angeles, according to representatives for Trump.
Each of these individuals participated in a national day of remembrance for Americans killed by illegal aliens last November. Breitbart exclusively covered the Temecula, California event onsite.
Jamiel Shaw Jr. was shot and killed in 2008 when illegal alien gang member Pedro Espinoza was released from prison and within hours set out with the intent to kill, choosing Shaw due to his red Spiderman backpack. Shaw’s father, Jamiel Shaw, Sr., heard the shot from the family home and knew something was wrong. He walked outside to find his son slain.
The Shaw family has pushed for legislation entitled “Jamiel’s Law.”
“Law-abiding citizens of all colors are uniting against the targeting of innocent black residents of Los Angeles by illegal alien gangs,” Michelle Malkin wrote of Jamiel’s Law back in 2008.
Legal German immigrant Sabine Durden lost her only son Dominic in 2012 when a Guatemalan national illegally in the country struck and killed her son in a traffic collision. The driver had two prior drunk driving convictions and had requested amnesty from a judge. It was through the diligent efforts of Ms. Durden that he was eventually deported.
Brenda Sparks lost her son Eric Haydu Zepeda when an illegally present alien struck Zepeda and his passenger while they were riding on his motorcycle.
Lupe Moreno recounted at the Temecula event, her nephew telling intoxicated illegal aliens “I’m an American” before being shot in the head.
Don Rosenberg lost his son in a motorcycle collision with an illegal alien. The offender served half of a six-month sentence before being deported. The Rosenberg family fought for the deportation.
Trump came under fire for comments on illegal immigration made during the announcement of his presidential campaign. Since the initial brash remarks, he has offered clarifying comments and has expressed his love for the Mexican people, while at the same time stressing the importance of securing the U.S. southern border. Several business partners have severed ties with Trump over the comments, while the issue of illegal immigration has emerged in the national debate.
Pro-amnesty protesters are expected outside a Republican event also scheduled for Friday in Los Angeles.

‘The Silent Majority Is Back!’: Donald Trump Criticizes Border Policy in Fiery Speech
July 11, 2015 5:02pm
PHOENIX (TheBlaze/AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump criticized U.S. immigration and trade policies on Saturday in speeches that veered from accusing Mexico of deliberately sending criminals across the border to professing respect for the Mexican government and love for its people.
Speaking to a gathering of Libertarians in Las Vegas before headlining an event in Phoenix, Trump repeated his charge that Mexico was sending violent offenders to the U.S. to harm Americans and that U.S. officials were being “dumb” in dealing with immigrants in the country illegally.
“These people wreak havoc on our population,” he told a few thousand people attending the Libertarian gathering FreedomFest inside a Planet Hollywood ballroom on the Las Vegas Strip.
In the 4,200-capacity Phoenix convention center packed with flag-waving supporters, Trump took a different view — for a moment — and said: “I love the Mexican people. I love ‘em. Many, many people from Mexico are legal. They came in the old-fashioned way. Legally.”
He quickly returned to the sharp tone that has brought him scorn as well as praise. “I respect Mexico greatly as a country. But the problem we have is their leaders are much sharper than ours, and they’re killing us at the border and they’re killing us on trade.”
His speeches in both venues were long on insults aimed at critics and short on solutions to the problems he cited. When he called for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, the audience in Las Vegas groaned.
In a break from the immigration rhetoric that has garnered him condemnation and praise, Trump asserted that he would have more positive results in dealing with China and Russia if he were president and said he could be pals with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Asked by an audience member in Las Vegas about U.S.-Russia relations, Trump said the problem is that Putin doesn’t respect Obama.
“I think we would get along very, very well,” he said.
Trump has turned to victims of crime to bolster his argument that immigrants in the U.S. illegally have killed and raped. In Las Vegas and Phoenix, he brought on stage Jamiel Shaw Sr., a Southern California man whose 17-year-old son was shot and killed in 2008 by a man in the country illegally.
Shaw vividly described how his son was shot — in the head, stomach and hands while trying to block his face — and how he heard the gunshots as he talked to his son on the phone.
Shaw said he trusted Trump, and encouraged the crowds in both cities to do the same.
Trump’s speeches were filled with tangents and insults leveled at business partners such as Univision and NBC that have dropped him in the wake of his comments that Mexican immigrants bring drugs and crime to the U.S. and are rapists. He also directed familiar barbs at other presidential contenders, including Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton (“the worst secretary of state in the history of the country”), news media figures (“lyin’ Brian Williams”) and President Barack Obama (“such a divisive person”). He called journalists “terrible people.”
As Trump lambasted Univision for canceling its broadcast of the Miss USA pageant, one of his many business enterprises, a group of young Latinos unfurled a banner pointed toward the stage and began chanting insults. They were quickly drowned out by the crowd, and nearby Trump supporters began to grab at them, tearing at the banner and pulling and pushing at the protesters. Security staff managed to get to the group and escorted them out as Trump resumed speaking.
“I wonder if the Mexican government sent them over here,” he said. “I think so.”
Arizona’s tough-on-immigration Sheriff Joe Arpaio introduced Trump in Phoenix after outlining the things he and the candidate have in common, including skepticism that Obama was born in the United States. He went on to criticize the federal government for what he called a revolving door for immigrants, saying many of them end up in his jails.
“He’s been getting a lot of heat, but you know, there’s a silent majority out here,” Arpaio said, borrowing from a phrase Richard Nixon popularized during his presidency in a speech about the Vietnam War.
A single protester standing outside the room where Trump spoke in Las Vegas was more concerned about the businessman being tied to the Libertarian Party.
“I’ve been a Libertarian for 43 years and Trump ain’t no Libertarian,” said Linda Rawles, who asserted that including Trump in FreedomFest set back the party’s movement.
“We have to secure our borders,” Trump said in Phoenix. “We have to do something to protect our country.”
Toward the end of his speech, Trump suggested charging the Mexican government $100,000 for every illegal immigrant it “sends over.”
“The silent majority is back, and we’re going to take the country back!” he said in closing.
Here’s Trump’s entire Phoenix speech:

A guy like Trump doesn't need to be specific imo.
He's simply in to shake things up and make it interesting. Bush, Clinton, and the like have the "details" but look at what that has gotten us over the years.
Jack doo doo...
The American people have been sold to the highest bidder for years, by career politicians. I hope Trump keeps them shaking in their boots.
He can worry about details once he's in office.

It is interesting that a politician who's main platform piece is to be against illegal immigration is considered an "outsider". You would think that would be just be the default position of all Americans.

'I'm going to make you eat your words': Mexico's billion-dollar drugs lord THREATENS Donald Trump on Twitter account 'run by his son' and taunts the world after his dramatic escape from prison
Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman, head of powerful Sinaloa Cartel, is on the run
He fled a prison in Mexico City through an elaborate tunnel network
El Chapo has now reportedly taken to Twitter to gloat about escape online
Posted threats about Donald Trump who had criticised Guzman's escape
Mexico's billion dollar drugs lord known as 'El Chapo' has gloated on Twitter about his escape from a maximum security jail by taunting authorities and threatening US-presidential hopeful Donald Trump. Joaquin Guzman, billionaire head of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel, made his jail break on Saturday morning and is on the run from Altiplano jail, 50 miles outside of Mexico City, security officials said. His audacious escape saw him dash through the mile-long tunnel system, which led to a building under construction next to the prison - from where he collected clothes left for him by his conspirators.
But following his escape he has took to Twitter and used it to hit back at Trump, who has said that the Guzman embodies 'everything that is wrong with Mexico' and added he would 'kick his ass'.
On the account, administered by Guzman's son Ivan, the escapee reportedly wrote: 'If you keep p****** me off I'm going to make you eat your words you f****** blonde milk-s*****'.
He also took aim at the Mexican President Enrique Peńa Nieto saying: ''And you @EPN, don't call me a delinquent because I give people work unlike you you cowardly politician.'
The drugs lord's account became particularly active yesterday, when many believe it was Guzman himself sending messages of victory and threatening his enemies with gruesome death.

1,423 CONVICTED CRIMINAL IMMIGRANTS WENT ON TO COMMIT ADDITIONAL CRIMES AFTER THEIR FY 2014 RELEASES
http://www.breitbart.com/big-governm...2014-releases/
The convictions of those criminal immigrants released in FY 2014 included included:
86 homicide convictions
186 kidnapping convictions
373 sexual assault convictions
449 commercialized sexual offenses
1,194 battery convictions
1,346 domestic violence convictions
13,636 DUIs
Speaking if DUIs, I'm always curious, when a deadly DUI collision occurs, if the perpetrators were illegal aliens. But the fucking so-called local news outlets are very hesitant to come forth with that information. Also, any major 18-wheeler fuck-ups... I really want to know if illegal aliens are behind those disasters, as well.
But.... let a white school teacher have sex with a student... and suddenly the local news organizations are eager to tell you all about the teacher...R.I.P. Edward Lodewijk Van Halen ~~ The Einstein of Rock Guitar ~~

Trump has a plan. Build a wall. In fact, he said he would build a "real wall," since he has built some of the best buildings in the world. Of course, like Cruz's plan, it is totally ill-conceived.
One, Cruz at least realizes that a wall means nothing if it is not patrolled, so he wants to not only build a double-layer fence along all 2,000 miles of the border, but triple the size of the border patrol and quadruple the amount of helicopters, cameras, and presumably drones.
Of course, even the Berlin wall was successfully breached over 1,000 times a year, and that was on terrain much easier to patrol than our southern border. Our border has rugged terrain, valleys, mountains, national parks, etc., that would be impractical to build on, so the wall will have to zig zag around it, if not skip it all together. The wall would have to skip the Rio Grande in order to avoid damming it. In other words, it won't work at a huge, huge cost.
Putting up a wall on the rest of the border would cost about $6 billion, several hundred million each year in maintenance, and tripling the border patrol would cost $7 billion a year.
All of that money, and it only addresses half the problem. 45% of illegal immigrants simply overstay their visas.
But that's not all. Over half of the current 700 miles of fencing is on private property that was taken by the federal government. They offered families, some of whom the property had been in the family for over 200 years, nowhere near the actual property value, but the families couldn't afford to fight them off with expensive legal action without selling the property. I don't know how much private property would have to be taken for the rest of the 1,300 miles, but I am guessing some. In one egregious case, a federal lawyer tallied up a family's assets in order to dissuade a free legal clinic from representing him in order to get the fair value of his property. In other words, the federal government made sure the free clinic knew how much the family was worth so they wouldn't represent them. Those assets weren't liquid, though, so in order to get fair value in eminent domain, they'd have had to sell other assets. Not really fair, I'd say.
Trump's idea, which is also Cruz's is just plain bad.Last edited by lovemachine97(Version 2); 07.14.15 at 01:50 PM.
