DLR/John 5 unreleased album
While in another thread, thought I would look up DLR's unreleased tunes on ASCAP for hints of his album with John 5.
Here is a list of DLR's unreleased song:
Alligator Pants - DLR only
High Fashion Girl - with J5
Lick it Up - with J5 and Bob Marlette, most likely a DLR Band leftover
Lo-Rez Sunset - DLR
Nothing Could Have Stopped Us - with J5
Wash and Fold - with J5
Walk Out - DLR
Party Time - DLR
Rainbow Bar & Grill - with J5 (supposedly the album title, and I believe he played a snippet of this on The Roth Show)
Red Bull & Pop Tarts - with J5
Shit that Killed Elvis - with J5
Smoove - DLR
So, it looks like he could release something if he wanted (or was allowed to).If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.
Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"
David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Me too , Raldo !
Nice detective work , DD .
I only have EEAS , Skyscraper , and ALAE . Dave's other solo albums went pretty much under my radar , but I'd be interested in the one sitting in the can , with John 5 ."There's too many people on this basketball that's floating around the sun, who are too afraid to allow themselves to FEEL" - Edward Van Halen
"Van Halen was never about the singer..." - A very wise fan.
"Embrace the past. Live in the moment but keep your eyes on the future, and keep on moving forward..." - Richie Sambora

John 5 said this album has a little of everything and I totally believe that. He is one of the most versatile guitarists I've ever seen. I think I look up more videos of him playing country than anything else.

I actually messaged Dave on FB about John 5 disk about 3 months ago. The response I got was "we'll see". Two words and nothing else. So it definitely exists.

That's brilliant. I didn't know we had access to that.
There's even a few more song titles listed there.
- Giddy Up
- Nothing Could Have Stopped Us
-Manda Bala
Von Halen just commented about this album a couple days ago. He spoke with John 5 and asked what's going on and John 5's answer was " Dave's in Van Halen " .Last edited by Heisenberg; 03.14.15 at 03:41 PM.

John 5 was recently on That Metal Show and talked a little about the album.
Someone asked Trunk on Twitter last night if he had heard any of the DLR/John 5 tracks. Trunk said he had heard at least some of the songs that were acoustic.

That's nine unreleased tunes with John 5. Release that damn thing and go on a club tour with J5 after VH is done with the sheds this summer and early fall.
You ain't getting younger Dave. Just play your John 5 album and solo stuff. If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Interesting! Where'd you see this?
I saw him on TMS show just in case Trunk asked him, and he did, but no news.
I remember "Walk Out" being a Skycraper leftover. I think one of the Skyscraper bootleg CDs (that "Paradise Lost" one I believe) had that song listed as Vai's solo.
And I wonder if "Smoove" is a tribute to J.B. Smoove. Highly doubt it, but that man is quite funny in a very unique way. But Dave being a comedian himself--who knows.Dave

There's many golden nuggets of trivial info to be found in that ASCAP site. I snooped around there yesterday. By clicking on song titles I didn't recognize found a couple fun facts.
Found out Gary Cherone's middle name is Francis.
Chad Smith's middle name is Gaylord.
This " Blood From a Stone " song title intrigued me the most. Written with Desmond Child and Glen Ballard.
It must be the song they wrote in 1996 that Dave mentioned in his book said they wrote it over the phone and he tried singing some of it but sounded horrible. Then of course it was Desmond Child who introduced EVH to Mitch Malloy.
Here's a screenshot of the listing.

There's numerous other things listed on the site that popped out and captured my interest. Too many to mention and post all at once. Can't copy and paste from that site it would take too long and can't post the links because you have to click the " Agree " button.
Here's one more unknown song title to me that lists DLR and Michael Anthony. ( ???? )
