I picked up that TOJ disc the other day, and I have to say it. It's actually not that bad. I actually kind of dig it. It's definitely not what you'd expect from Gary and his guitar driven rock background. Left For Dead, the song Gary wrote with VH, is really cool. With VH, that song definitely would have rocked. As a Dave era fan, it's tough to give a guy like Gary his due, but Left for Dead really could have been a kick ass VH track. If only Gary had stayed... Just kidding folks. Dave or the Grave.
Left for Dead is a great song though. The rest of the disc isn't bad either. I think Gary has finally found a band he fits in with."And now for the benediction..."

Since they are basically Extreme without Nuno, I am definately interested in hearing it. Extreme is one of my favorite bands.
How is the new guitar player?
How did Gary's voice sound?
Is it out in stores yet?

The guitar player sounds pretty good, but he's no Eddie. Gary's voice sounds a lot more like it did when he was in Extreme, and you can pick up the CD at http://www.tojonline.com
Honestly, this band and style of music really fits Gary much more than Van Halen did. TOJ sounds like a Linkin Park type band(I loathe Linkin Park), with some sampling, but also a lot of heavy guitar. The songs actually do groove and Gary's voice fits really well. Interestingly enough, his voice sounds a little underdubbed, just like on VH3. The music itself is mixed into a fuller, deeper sound unlike VH3.
Man, do I sound like Cherone supporter or what? Gary is a nice guy and a class act, but I'd better go put Fair Warning in my CD player just in case... "And now for the benediction..."

I heard LFD and really liked it. Gary does fit this type of music better. Good for him. That guy takes a beating for doing nothing wrong. It's not his fault RD fucked up vh.

You got that right, AL. I have the sampler and really feel like Gary is finally settling into something he can call his own.

Well, I guess it's 5 o'clock somewhere. That was going to be my last post on the issue. But since it irks you so much, maybe I will carry on about it for the next 4 years. After all, that is...
