Here's another great pic of the Chris Holmes with his Destroyer, probably in the late 70s. Here we can see that he tried to do a painted white "binding" style look around the body and the headstock. This is why we see that worn white area around the corners and on the headstock as it appears in the more contemporary photos that I've posted here earlier from Doug Anderson and Craig Parker Adams:

Garb, great pics! I've always liked Chris Holmes, he was the craziest and most talented in WASP as far as I'm concerned. It's no wonder why he bonded so easily with EVH back in the day!

I don't make a living at anything! My wife works long hours in Media Relations for a major healthcare corporation here in Houston and she's the breadwinner right now. I've worked a lot of retail and outside advertising sales for print and cable TV over the years even though I have a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations. I've been out of work a lot though...I lost my last long-term job in retail back in September of 2019 and I've been a stay-at-home Dad to my wife and my now 7-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son ever since. I'm also helping to take care of my mom who suffers from dementia and my brother and sister-in-laws who have both recently had major strokes.
I'm trying to make a career pivot currently...I'm taking courses to become a junior high English teacher. I'd like to actually do something worthwhile instead of the soul crushing life of a salesman and retail manager that I've led most of my life since I was in my late teens.
Of course, I try to keep learning as much as I can about guitar when I can, but time on the instrument is very hard to come by even though I'm unemployed. I try to grab a few moments here and there, but nothing like the 8-12 hours a day I would put in on the instrument when I was single. Guitar keeps me sane and fulfilled. Every once in a great while I will get my wife or mother-in-law to watch the kids and I'll go hang out with one of my touring musician friends and see their shows and maybe a long after show hang...but that is like a once or twice in a year occurrence. Such is my life!
