24K gold VH CD

Does anyone know if the sound quality is actually better on the gold CD's? Is it worth it to buy them?

That's a topic that VanEdge posted when the remasters came out. He ran 3 versions of Jump (the original, the Best Of version and the remaster) through Sound Forge and shows the results about halfway down page 1. If you look on the second page, he mentions that he also ran part of Runnin' With the Devil from both the remaster and the gold cd through Sound Forge, and the remaster was better. the remasters will take your breath away, they are really good sound its shocking. fair warning sounds so good, its all clear. i have all the dave era cds and i only need 2 sammy era cds to go. and i might buy VH3, i'm thinking hard about it. but i dont think so.

You should buy VH3, it's not as bad as everybody makes it. I quite liked it when it came out, but I have to admit that I don't listen to it very much nowadays.

Ok, i'll think about it, then again i could burn the mp3s on to a disk. but no, it wouldnt sound as good. NO one did answer my question on the remasters

Anyway, they aren't gold. There's only VH and 1984 on gold discs. I'm not even sure about 1984, though, but I do have the "Van Halen" gold disc.

Mean Street, the remasters all have the gold-colored discs, but there is another set of CD's that are 24k gold. This only includes Van Halen and 1984. You'll notice them because they're like twice as much as the regular CDs
