The fact that Sam, EVH, AVH, DLR and MA have all pretty much retired from creating new music is very sad. It had to happen one day, but I thought that day would've arrived later. They've all had fairly successful records in the not too distant past (ADKOT, CFI), so it comes as a bit of a surprise. A bad surprise.

Thats life......especially when your as wealthy as they are. Sammy is 67 prolly has the most money and he still does more than anyone else in the membership and he does it with Mike. I'm just glad I have been on board with this party since 78 and Sammy with Montrose since 74. Sammy keeps you informed and uses the net better than all of the others too.

Helluva ride it's been for Sam and Van Halen. Glad I was there.

Not to change the subject but this is certainly an "Odds and Ends". CUF was pretty miserable but the two Planet Us songs, presumably from 2002 certainly had an edge. They were very un-Sammy like in both the lyrics and melody I thought. I’m not sure how much I like either song but Schon can certainly deliver an interesting riff.

I'll take Neal over Joe but I like both of them. I would see them with either but not Vic. He is just not in their league. Psycho Vertigo rocks.

Peephole rocks, but I refuse to listen to it because the lyrics bother me.
Psycho Vertigo is an incredible song and one of my Sammy favorites. Sounds to me like he wrote it while watching tv.

I LOVE those 2 Planet Us songs, I really, really do.
CUF has those and I think LOUD is a good song....I actually really like 24365...lol.
I would have liked to have seen what Sam could have done with some of the stuff that ended up on the Soul Sirkus disk Neal did with Jeff Scott Soto after PU fell apart. Highest Ground from that disk is a great song.

I wish Planet us happened, but I was also happy with CF.
Sammy had/has a good chemistry with Neal Schon though, much like he did with Eddie.
I'm still hoping oneday Sam and Neal Get together again.
I crank "My hometown" quite regulery when I'm home alone

Haven't heard any of the Circle's performances yet. Might check some out on youtube.
Not sure if I'll buy it. What was the usual track list for the Circle shows? I assume more or less a "best of" set?
But one thing I know for sure: with these two live albums being released within a matter of weeks of each other, it might get nasty around the links...

Not trying to be over-optimistic, but I think some of you are being overly-pessimistic.
I honestly really don't think VH or Sammy are done making music. At all.
Sure, it will be rare when they do, but I don't see how a live album from each camp equals that.

I haven't watched Hannity in years, but I am surprised to hear him doing that. Something really must've got him going, and since Rush has passed, Hannity is pretty much the torch bearer.
