RIP I hope if anything her passing will inspire people to get screened just as Chadwick Boseman inspired black people to take their screenings seriously

    Fuck cancer
And the age to first get it done is 45. I always thought it was 50 but that changed. Simple procedure that can possibly save a life if detected early enough.

I've had 3 colonoscopies. I always look at it as a great opportunity for a good nap.

Had six of them, the prep is the worst part of it, the procedure itself is cake.

My brother just passed from stage 4 colon cancer. 53 years old.

From diagnosis to death, it was 3 months.

I'm 32 now. I'll start getting them at 40. Not taking any chances with this shit.

At the very least it's good that we're putting some awareness out there to encourage screenings.

most colon cancers are slow growing so unless you have the rare aggressive type, if it is diagnosed at stage 4 you have had it for a long time.

I had a polyp removed and while it was "tiny" and wasn't considered pre cancerous, it was in an area where a lot of polyps do become cancerous. So I am on the 5 year plan with my doctor now. No 50-60-70 for me, nope, Every 5 years. But I am OK with it because what other thing can you get done that PREVENTS cancer?
