‘Historic Moment’: Farage’s Reform Party is Now Larger Than the Centuries-Old UK Conservatives

Oliver JJ Lane 26 Dec 2024

Nigel Farage’s Reform UK Party has now overtaken the UK’s traditional party of government, the Conservatives, in membership, crossing the historic threshold weeks sooner than expected.

The most recent public figures for paid-up full members of the Conservative Party, certainly the oldest political party in the United Kingdom and possibly the oldest political party in the world, put it at 131,680 in November. Nigel Farage’s Reform UK — which he calls the youngest party in Britain — overtook that figure late Thursday morning following a Christmas Day surge in sign-ups.

At the time of publication the figure continued to rise and has made it to 132,200 members.

Brexit leader Farage, who came back to lead the party earlier this year after another failed attempt to step away from front-line politics and who got a seat in Britain’s Parliament for the first time on its ticket in July said: “This is an historic moment.”

He said of overtaking the Conservative Party: “The youngest political party in British politics has just overtaken the oldest political party in the world. Reform UK are now the real opposition.”

The countdown to Reform surpassing the Conservatives in the number of people they can convince to surrender their hard-earned money to support a political party was announced earlier this week, and a live-ticker of the party membership was broadcast. As stated then, it seemed likely the crossover would come early in the new year, with the advanced time scale suggesting yet another surge in signups.

    As reported then:

British bookmakers say Mr Farage is the favorite to be the next Prime Minister.

Certainly, Reform UK is the fastest-growing UK political party. It has 30,000 members in early June, rising to 100,000 by late November, little less than a month ago. While the vast majority of members have paid £25 each to the party, last week Mr Farage launched a special for young voters, welcoming under-25s with a special £10 deal.

That saw a fresh surge of sign-ups, with 1,000 new members in just 48 hours by Saturday. The party had climbed to 118,000 members by Sunday and today the live tracker proclaims 121,096 members at time of publication.

While much focus is placed on the rivalry between the Conservatives, long the default party of British government — it has been in power in 70 of the past 100 years — and Reform, perhaps a more important point in the coming years is it taking voters from left-wing Labour, too.

Centrist-globalist i-Paper splashed on Christmas Day, for instance, on the growing electoral threat to Labour posed by Farage. The report noted while Labour’s support is in freefall and has been more or less all year, and while Tory polling remains stubbornly low, its aggregate poll-of-polls show Reform to have risen consistently through 2024.

At present, British politics is essentially in a four-way-split, they said, citing UK polling guru Sir John Curtice who said: “2024 has been the year in which Reform has burst on the political scene – recording a notable increase in support in the months leading up to the election, significant progress during the election campaign, and then a further advance since.

“As a result, Britain’s traditional system of two-party politics now seemingly faces its biggest threat since the foundation of the SDP in 1981 – and all eyes will be on how Reform fares in 2025.”

The Javier and Trump speeches were just enormous big fat middle fingers to the Davos fuckheads. Javier was an oratory GENIUS. Trumps balls were down to his ankles. Sovereignty and Freedom, not censorship and control. Independent rights and free market, not totalitarianism technocracy and social credit bullshit! The tag team, while I'm sure not planned, was absolutely miraculous. Trump tackled the big ticket economic items like green energy bullshit. Javier got in to the nuance of not only identifying the insidiousness of gender/DEI/equity bullshit, but also the PURPOSE of it, called it all out and ended with his infamous "Freedom Dammit!" Woo hoo!!!!! Fuckin LOVE this guy!

They (WEF) are severely weakened in their globalism agenda at this point, and are terrified. The rise of conservatism/right wing needs to spread from the U.S., Argentina, Germany, Italy, El Salvador and Hungary outward to the rest of the planet and put the heel of the boot in to the fucking throat of this evil and kill it completely DEAD once and for all.

I'm so encouraged and actually hopeful. A couple years ago I didn't see any way out of what I was seeing as a tipping point globally. Our Administration was falling right in line with the agenda too.

Fuckin Trump man.....unbelievable. God bless him.

German Election Earthquake: Establishment Freaks Out as Conservatives Open Door to Passing Migration Reform with ‘Firewalled’ AfD

    Kurt Zindulka 28 Jan 2025

A row over Germany’s open borders immigration system threatens to upend the political status quo ahead of the February general election, as the leader of Angela Merkel’s former party opened the door to passing restrictions with the help of the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, sparking panic among the Berlin establishment.

Leading leftist figures of the now-defunct ‘traffic light’ coalition government have railed against the leader of the neo-liberal Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and likely next chancellor, Friedrich Merz, after he called for the Bundestag parliament to usher in migration restrictions and expressed willingness to pass the measures with votes from the AfD, despite having vowed to continue the cordon sanitaire around the party when forming the next government in Berlin.

Merz has called on leftist establishment parties, including the Social Democrats (SPD) and the Greens, to back his proposed reforms to undercut the populist support for the AfD ahead of the February 23rd general election.

Support for the anti-mass migration AfD has steadily risen over the past year amid a string of brutal terror attacks committed by migrants in Germany, most recently, the stabbing spree in Aschaffenburg last week, which left two dead, including a two-year-old boy, allegedly at the hands of a migrant from Afghanistan.

Spurred by the Aschaffenburg attack, as well as other recent attacks in Magdeburg, Mannheim, and Solingen, Merz called for the implementation of permanent border controls and the rejection of all attempts to enter the country illegally. The CDU leader also called for a “drastic reduction” in the number of illegals living in the country through regular deportations, including to countries such as Afghanistan and Syria.

His plan advocated for those with orders to leave the country to be “immediately taken into custody” and for the establishment of migrant removal centres across the country. Additionally, the Merz plan said that serious criminals with dual nationalities should have their German citizenship revoked. Finally, the proposal argues for limits to be placed on family reunification, also known as chain migration.

Merz demanded that the Bundestag vote on the measures as soon as this week, saying on Monday: “It’s really time to make decisions now.”

Critics on the left have argued that such measures would contravene European Union rules surrounding migration. However, the CDU has claimed that the national government must step in if the EU fails. The CDU also specifically cited the rising support for “populists” as justification for the restrictions.

“The AfD uses problems, worries and fears caused by mass illegal migration to fuel xenophobia and spread conspiracy theories. She wants Germany to leave the EU and the euro and instead turn to Putin’s Eurasian Economic Union. All of this endangers Germany’s stability, security and prosperity. That’s why this party is not a partner, but our political opponent,” the former Merkel-led party said.

Yet, despite the condemnation, Merz has said that he would be willing to pass the migration restrictions with the support of the AfD and others, such as the leftist populist BSW party and the Free Democrats (FDP), if the other establishment parties refuse to back the vote. This would represent a precedent-breaking step and perhaps an indication that the establishment firewall around the AfD is beginning to crack.

“What is right in the matter will not be wrong because the wrong people agree,” Merz said while still calling on the former traffic light coalition parties to back his proposal in order to “prevent there from being majorities that none of us want”.

Merz has claimed that regardless of the vote outcome, the CDU would not join a coalition government with the AfD. But his willingness to pass migration reform with their help has sparked a steep backlash from the establishment.

Robert Habeck, the chancellor candidate for the Greens and finance minister, said that if the CDU and AfD join together to pass migration reform, it would be a “dangerous step… a step too far.”

“Cooperation means accepting a majority with approval, knowing that it comes from the AfD,” he said. “In any case, this is no longer the Union we know that claims to stand for the centre in Germany. That’s over then.”

Chancellor Olaf Scholz added: “There must be no cooperation with extreme right-wing parties in Germany, at any time and nowhere.”

For her part, AfD chancellor candidate Alice Weidel accused Merz of acting like a “doormat” for the establishment and of playing “tactical games”. She said that the people of Germany “want the migration turnaround! And that can only happen with the AfD!”

‘New Era’ — Firewall Around AfD Broken as Merkel Party Joins With Populists in Migration Vote

    Kurt Zindulka 30 Jan 2025

In what may serve as a pivotal moment of the federal election campaign and perhaps the future of German politics as a whole, the ‘firewall’ barring establishment parties in Berlin from working with the AfD broke down on Wednesday as Angela Merkel’s former party partnered with the populist-sovereigntist party on a vote calling for migration restrictions.

Three weeks before German voters head to the polls, the political landscape of the country appears to be shifting under their feet. Since its formation in 2013, there has been a so-called ‘cordon sanitaire’ or ‘firewall’ around the sovereigntist Alternative for Germany (AfD, sovereigntist-populist right), with all other major parties refusing to engage politically with the AfD in any manner.

That dam broke in the Bundestag on Wednesday evening. Following the latest mass stabbing attack allegedly at the hands of a migrant from Afghanistan, which saw two killed, including a two-year-old boy, in Aschaffenburg last week, Christian Democratic Union (CDU, centre-right globalist) leader Friedrich Merz put forward a series of measures to prevent illegal migration and ramp up deportations. While Merz practically begged fellow establishment parties to back his albeit non-binding motion in the parliament, he critically said that he would be willing to pass the vote with the help of AfD parliamentarians.

On Wednesday, both the Social Democrats (SPD, globalist left) and the Greens decided to vote against the motion. However, it narrowly passed by a margin of 348 votes to 344, with 187 CDU/CSU (Union) MPs, 75 AfD MPs, 80 MPs of the Free Democrats (FDP, liberalism), and six unaligned members. It marked the first time that a motion was passed with the help of the AfD since the party was founded, NTV reported.

Merz, who succeeded one of the chief architects of the European Migrant Crisis, Angela Merkel, as the leader of the CDU, was lambasted by leftist politicians and the legacy media for breaking the “democratic centre” and aligning with “far-right extremists” and “fascists”. The centre-right politician said that he could not in good conscience remain inactive in light of the recent migrant attacks.

“We owe it to the people in the country and not least to the victims of the acts of violence to really limit illegal migration, take those obliged to leave the country into custody and finally deport them,” he said.

The AfD, which is often branded as “far-right” and “extremist” despite being polled as the second-largest party in the country, hailed the breaking of the firewall as a moment that will usher in a “new era” of German politics.

Following the vote, AfD MP Bernd Baumann said that the “broad movement” in the West against the “left-green mainstream” has “arrived here in Germany”. He pointed to the success of populist leaders such as U.S. President Donald Trump, Italian Premiere Giorgia Meloni, and the power broker behind the Dutch government, Geert Wilders, as other examples.

“A new era begins here and now,” Baumann said, adding: “We are leading this, the new forces are leading this, these are the forces from the AfD. You can follow, Mr. Merz, if you still have the strength to do so.”

While Merz, the likely next chancellor of the country, has consistently vowed that he would not enter into a coalition government with the AfD following the February 23rd federal elections, preferring instead to partner with leftist parties such as the SPD, the vote on Wednesday demonstrated that an actually right-wing majority will likely be available to him.

Conversely, after the vote on Wednesday, it is unclear if leftist parties would be willing to partner with the CDU to form a government.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz of the Social Democrats said: “For the first time, a motion was passed in the German Bundestag with a majority that was also supported by the AfD. That is a bad sign. For Parliament. And also for our country.”

SPD Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said the Union had “left the democratic centre” to make “common cause with the right-wing populists of the AfD in order to make illegal decisions.”

The leader of the Left Party — the descendent of the Marxist-Leninist ruling party of Communist East Germany — Jan van Aken exclaimed: “We will remember this day for decades to come, when the conservatives and the fascists made a common cause for the first time in many decades.”

However, the rubber will truly hit the road on Friday, when Merz will put forward a binding resolution to introduce migration curbs. The CDU boss has once again pleaded with the leftist establishment parties to join his cause. Yet, given the SPD’s opposition to introducing hard border restrictions against illegal migration, Merz and the Union may once again be forced to turn to the AfD.

Argentina says it will withdraw from the World Health Organization, echoing Trump

Wed, February 5, 2025 at 11:57 AM EST

BUENOS AIRES (AP) — Argentina's president has ordered the country's withdrawal from the World Health Organization due to “profound differences” with the U.N. agency, a presidential spokesperson said Wednesday.

President Javier Milei's decision echoes that of his ally, U.S. President Donald Trump, who began the process of pulling the United States out of WHO with an executive order on his first day back in office on Jan. 21.

The loss of another member country will further fracture cooperation in global health, though Argentina was expected to provide only about $8 million to WHO for the agency’s estimated $6.9 billion 2024-2025 budget.

Argentina’s decision is based on “profound differences in health management, especially during the (COVID-19) pandemic,” spokesperson Manuel Adorni told a news conference in Buenos Aires. He said WHO guidelines at the time led to the largest shutdown “in the history of mankind.”

Argentina will not allow an international organization to intervene in its sovereignty “and much less in our health,” he added.

WHO has no authority to compel countries to take specific health actions, and the organization’s guidelines and recommendations, including in health crises like COVID-19, are often disregarded.

WHO said it was looking into Argentina's announcement.

Adorni did not say when Milei's decision would be implemented. He also asserted that WHO lacks independence because of the political influence of some countries, without naming any.

WHO is the only organization mandated to coordinate global responses to acute health crises, particularly outbreaks of new diseases and persistent threats including Ebola, AIDS and mpox.

Milei was a sharp critic of the lockdown imposed by former President Alberto Fernandez during the pandemic, asserting that it hurt the economy and that the government used it as a mechanism of “repression."

"LONG LIVE FREEDOM,” Milei said Wednesday in a post on X criticizing the U.N. agency.

Argentina does not receive WHO funding for health management, and the president's decision doesn't affect the quality of health services, Adorni said.

“On the contrary, it gives greater flexibility to implement policies adopted to the context of interests that Argentina requires,” he added.

Last year, Milei's government refused to sign an agreement to manage pandemics within the WHO framework, on the grounds that doing so could affect national sovereignty.

The announcement on the WHO comes ahead of Milei's trip to the U.S. later this month that will coincide with the Conservative Political Action Conference summit of right-wing leaders in Washington. The spokesperson has not confirmed that Milei will attend or that he might meet Trump.

    Just like that.

Será como alfinetar o chão e achar que vai doer na pele. Tiro no pé!! I ain't crying in the rain for you, Argentina. Mas eu vou sentir falta dos alfajores originais, apesar de saber os nossos aqui no Brasil são vendidos em Reais, moeda muito mais forte que os pesos argentinos. Vai lá, milhei - TNC, seu fela!

WATCH: J.D. Vance Blasts Europe’s Elites to Their Sulking Faces – Slams Mass Migration, Censorship, and Champions America’s Founding Values.

    Raheem J. Kassam

MUNICH, Germany – Vice President J.D. Vance took a lecturing tone against a room full of European “elites” at the Munich Security Forum this afternoon, slamming leaders who fail to abide by the wishes of their electorates and condemning the censorship and persecution of conservatives, Christians, and others.

Speaking at the Bayerischer Hof hotel, Vance boldly declared, “A new sheriff is in town,” referring to his boss, President Donald J. Trump, and a new American approach to the nation’s partners and allies.

“We gather at this conference, of course, to discuss security, and normally we mean threats to our external security,” Vance began, after offering his condolences over the Munich terror attack yesterday wherein an Afghan migrant injured nearly 40 with yet another vehicular attack.

    SHARED VALUES?

“The threat that I worry the most about vis a vis Europe is not Russia, it’s not China, it’s not any other external actor. And what I worry about is the threat from within,” he offered, adding that Europe has retreated from the fundamental values of free speech and democracy.

Vance lambasted Europe’s leaders to their faces, eliciting some of the most uncomfortable expressions from those in the audience who have long operated on the basis that they know “better” than those who vote in their countries.

“When we see European courts canceling elections and senior officials threatening to cancel others, we ought to ask whether we’re holding ourselves to an appropriately high standard,” he said, noting the recent cancellation of elections in Romania.

“I say ourselves because I fundamentally believe that we are on the same team. We must do more than talk about democratic values.”

    CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION.

“I look to Sweden,” the VP said, “where, two weeks ago, the government convicted a Christian activist for participating in Koran burnings that resulted in his friend’s murder. As the judge in his case chillingly noted, Sweden’s laws to supposedly protect free expression do not, in fact, grant–and I’m quoting–a ‘free pass to do or say anything without’ risking offending the group that holds that belief.

“And perhaps most concerningly, I look to our very dear friends, the United Kingdom, where the backslide away from conscience rights has placed the basic liberties of religious Britons, in particular, in the crosshairs. A little over two years ago, the British government charged Adam Smith Connor, a 51-year-old physiotherapist and an Army veteran, with the heinous crime of standing 50 meters from an abortion clinic and silently praying for three minutes, not obstructing anyone, not interacting with anyone, just silently praying on his own after British law enforcement spotted him and demanded to know what he was praying for, Adam replied simply, it was on behalf of the unborn son he and his former girlfriend had aborted years before.”

Vance blasted those who claimed COVID-19 came from a Wuhan market, once again blasting censors.

“In Washington, there is a new sheriff in town, and under Donald Trump’s leadership. We may disagree with your views, but we will fight to defend your right to offer it in the public square. Agree or disagree.”

    FOREIGN INTERFERENCE.

Vance, after repeatedly blasting what he called the Soviet-era terms of “disinformation” and “misinformation,” turned to the establishment’s usual shield: Russian election interference.

“You can believe it’s wrong for Russia to buy social media advertisements to influence her elections. We certainly do. You can condemn it on the world stage even, but if your democracy can be destroyed with a few hundred thousand dollars of digital advertising from a foreign country, then it wasn’t very strong to begin with.”

    NOTHING AMERICA CAN DO.

Invoking the theme of his recent electoral victory alongside President Trump, Vance reflected on the importance of strong democratic mandates over the use of coercion over electorates or political opponents.

“Europe faces many challenges, but the crisis this continent faces right now, the crisis I believe we all face together, is one of our own making. If you’re running in fear of your own voters, there is nothing America can do for you, nor, for that matter, is there anything that you can do for the American people who elected me and elected President Trump.”

“And of course, we know that very well in America, you cannot win a democratic mandate by censoring your opponents or putting them in jail, whether that’s the Leader of the Opposition, a humble Christian praying in her own home, or a journalist trying to report the news. Nor can you win one by disregarding your basic electorate on questions like who gets to be a part of our shared society.”

    MASS MIGRATION.

The VP then turned to one of the hottest topics in Europe and the United States: mass immigration.

“I believe there is nothing more urgent than mass migration today. Almost one in five people living in this country moved here from abroad. That is, of course, an all-time high. It’s a similar number, by the way, in the United States, which is also an all-time high. The number of immigrants who entered the EU from non-EU countries doubled between 2021 and 2022 alone. And we know the situation. It didn’t materialize in a vacuum. It’s the result of a series of conscious decisions made by politicians all over the continent and others across the world over the span of a decade, we saw the horrors wrought by these decisions yesterday in this very city.

“It’s a terrible story, but it’s one we’ve heard way too many times in Europe and, unfortunately, too many times in the United States as well. An asylum seeker, often a young man in his mid-20s, already known to police, rams a car into a crowd and shatters a community. How many times must we suffer these appalling setbacks before we change course and take our shared civilization in a new direction?”

“No voter on this continent went to the ballot box to open the floodgates to millions of unvetted immigrants. But you know what they did vote for? In England, they voted for Brexit, and agree or disagree, they voted for it. And more and more. All over Europe, they’re voting for political leaders who promised to put an end to out-of-control migration. Now, I happen to agree with a lot of these concerns, but you don’t have to agree with me. I just think that people care about their homes, their dreams, their safety, their capacity to provide for themselves and their children, and they’re smart.

“I think this is one of the most important things I’ve learned in my brief time in politics. Contrary to what you might hear a couple of mountains over in Davos, the citizens of all of our nations don’t generally think of themselves as educated animals or as interchangeable cogs of a global economy, and it’s hardly surprising that they don’t want to be shuffled about more relentlessly, ignored by their leaders.”

Vance’s speech will doubtless cause consternation amongst the European elites, but will also sound like a clarion call for freedom for those in Europe who have suffered under the yolk of repressive globalists. Like Paul Revere riding through the night for the cause of liberty, Vance rode through Paris and Munich this week, aggressively waving the flag for America’s founding values.
