Default What are You Watching The NEW TV season

Dad's....incredible cast Seth Green, Peter Riegert, Giovanni Ribisi Martin Mull

wasn't crazy about the first episode but the second episode is finding it's rhythm

same thing with Brooklyn nine nine.....I still think that Andy Samberg is playing it too broadly....he's not believable as a cop and even with the whackyness of Barney Miller, I still believed these guys as cops

Back in the game with James Caan....first episode was all set up and the best line of the show was said when she was questioning her Dad's commitment as a father "When I got my period you said 'Walk it off'" I'll give this one a go

Looking forward to The Crazy Ones with Robin Williams and The Michael j Fox Show tonite

The Goldbergs was a gigantic disappointment....the sets and costumes were appropriately cringe worthy, but a great cast was really underused

dvr'd The Blacklist and Agents of Shield for this weekend

    so, what are you watching?

Did the same. Both are pretty good shows. Spader is really the only reason to watch "Blacklist" though.

Not really a network TV guy but I think I might give Dads a try. The quote from Back in the game sounds funny so I might give that a try too. I need to find something to keep me home and out of trouble...

DVR'd Hostages but haven't watched yet.

Gonna DVR MJF and Robin Williams also and watch when I can.

Robin Williams looks like it might be a train wreck and be gone in six weeks. From the ads, I thought it was an hour drama. Now I read it's a half hour situation comedy. How many times can Williams go from manic to weepy in 24 minutes? Stay Tuned!

All I have now is basic local cable, so for the first time in a long time I'm back to the four network fold, which I haven't watched any of in years.

Gah! Think I might just go break out a run of comic books from the 90's. Batman - Knightfall sounds so much better than Sarah Michelle GA-LAR as Mork's daughter.

So far we watched The Blacklist, Shield, Goldbergs, Sleepy Hallow, and Trophy Wife. I've enjoyed all so far, but will probably only stick with Blacklist and Goldbergs. Really waiting on Doctor Who

More and more of my viewing has switched to non-network sources, and so this year very little really called me.

I watched Blacklist. You can always tell the shows that a network really wants to push or thinks is their next hit because of the time slot. Blacklist got the post-Voice slot. I was slightly interested in Hostages, the Dylan McDermott series, but it is up against Blacklist and I doubt both will make it to another season. Blacklist had great numbers and Hostages was about half of that, so I am guessing Hostages is not going to make it, even though it is a shorter season (that might be what saves it).

Blacklist might have enough intrigue and enough Spader to keep me tuning in. Enjoyed the set up, and I like that the main star is a mystery.

I watched Brooklyn Nine Nine and I realized why I often hate network shows. The pilot treated me like an idiot. Not only are the characters cliched, but as if the over-the-top writing and acting to show "who" they were wasn't enough, there was a point where a character tells us what type each person is. Then, at the end, they reviewed a few things that occurred literally 10 or 15 minutes before as if there were so many twists and turns that I might have forgotten about it already.

MJ Fox's show has recorded, and Robin Williams' show is set. That's about it. I can't say that I am excited about any of them, sadly. (I will try JJ Abrams new show in November too.)

Otherwise, I am looking forward to returning shows, especially Homeland, The Following, Episodes (took a year off), and 24.

Oh ya. I can't wait. Having Tennant back is awesome. It will be sad too, will mean only 1 more episode with Matt Smith but I'm looking forward to Peter Capaldi.

Just heard a commercial on the radio this morning for Master Chef Jr.

Sounds like a bit of a gimmick, but it might be OK.

Makes me wonder what ever happened to the blind chef from a year or two ago. I quit watching, not because of the blind lady but because the show had already sort of jumped the shark.

Blacklist is fantastic. James Spader is a highly under-rated actor.
Michael J. Fox Show is fuuuuuunny. They poke fun at his Parkinson's, but in a tasteful manner.
Otherwise I still have my faves from the past. SVU, Hawaii 5-O, BBT.

I don't watch much network TV anymore outside of sports but I'm very curious to see the MJF show and Shield. Didn't see their premiers but I want to catch them at some point.

We saw the new Big Bang Theory shows last night and they were great as always. That may be the only network show I watch with any consistency.

Must watch for me starts in Oct. The Walking Dead.

Not sure how long the Michael J. Fox Show will stay on. The show was the lowest-rated Thursday night comedy debut in NBC history. The numbers aren't bad for the modern era. The problem is that there is an inevitable drop after a debut, so essentially the show can't lose many viewers if it wants a second season (though NBC has a habit of saving shows it believes in after a less than stellar first season, like The Office and Community).

To compare, from 9pm-10pm (the pilot and episode two aired, no half hour breakdown yet), the Michael J. Fox Show had 7.5 million total viewers and a 2.2 rating in the demo. Crazy Ones, with Robin Williams, had 15.5 million viewers and a 3.9 rating in the demo.

Big Bang Theory debuted to 19 million and 20.44 million total viewers (8 and 8:30) and a 5.5, 6.1 rating (8 and 8:30) in the demo, Two and a Half Men debuted to 11.6 million total viewers and a 2.9 in the demo.

Meanwhile, Parks and Rec debuted to 3.27 million total viewers and a 1.3 in the demo.

In other words, in what used to be NBC's goldmine--Must See TV Thursday nights--NBC got trounced. Big time.

If it isn't for sports, I am not turning the channel to the networks.

I'd rather watch a movie or play a video game if I am going to sit in front of the tube.
