I love this damn song. The intro kicks ass and then sam comes in with that killer sammy voice. OH TAKE ME BACK!!
ah I remember when that first came out.........damnit this sucks with no vh.
Anyway I hear some people around here bashing that song but I think its a classic....along with ever other song on balance. whooo

I totally agree, it's a great song. I'd love to know how Eddie wound up using that intro riff from the club era.

Hey where is the thread with people bashing this tune at? I have not seen that one. But anyways, I think this tune is the best one off of Balance.

It's a great song! Sammy's lyrics are the main reason I like it.

I agree that this song is pretty damn good. I heard that Sammy didn't care much for the lyrics because someone (maybe Bruce Fairbairn) told him to change the lyrics twice.

One of my favorite songs w/Sammy. It could have had a longer solo too then it might have been just about perfect.

This is probably the best song on the balance album. Awesome lyrics! The words in that song are very deep. Great tune!!!

Coulda/Shoulda been released as a single. I remember when "People" magazine did their review of "Balance", they said it was mostly head-banger music, but that "Take Me Back" was a great tune, and the best on the record.

I have seen some people bash this song, but I don't know why. I think it's cool. The only thing about it I don't like is that electronic voice "one heart, one mind, one soul, one light..." or something like that.
It just sounded out of place. Other than that, the song is great, IMO.

Cool DIF, you sumed it up. That's my fav part in the song called a bridge, it's there to connect two different keys in a song.
That's why *I* like it! I think more cause of how Ed's effects are in it. It's sounds wateryish like underwater sounding? Or how Sam refers to it, a deja vu trance.
That's what cought my ear anyway and I also like how Glenn said the same thing I was going to say about the intro on older VH bootleg shit. But he beat me to it like always.
Also this song, this is why I've always liked it but it's like a Cabo WaboII or in a sense another tune that takes you to white sand beaches with the water looking like mirrors of blue and translucent rays of the sun.

You know, this song serves as an example of what I like about Balance - there's a little bit of everything all rolled into one (God, now I'm quoting Meredith Brooks song lyrics).
You've got your harder songs (Don't Tell Me, Aftershock), you're softer songs (CSLY, Not Enough), and then variety things like the somewhat jaded Feelin and the laid back Take Me Back.
Only change I would have made would be to have Crossing Over on the US release as well - hell of a song not to put on there. Very spooky, very... atmospheric.

Ah man, Balance couldnt get any better. People say that they dont like baluchitherium and that it needed lyrics well thats bullshit, its one of my favorite vh tunes ever. Same thing goes with Doin Time, while its not a classic it fits in with the album, perfectly leading into baluchitherium and then the chimes on take me back hit, it doesnt get any better than that. The order of the songs on balance are actually perfect.
