I have really enjoyed these interviews. The 3 of them feed off each other and it's just great.

Love it...great video. They have great chemistry.
Janie Liszewski did the IMPOSSIBLE she helped Eddie Van Halen get better. Deal with it.

wow nice surprise! I enjoyed it.
It's fascinating to watch the chemistry between them. All 3 are characters in their own way and it's fun to watch the interaction. Of course as a fan and just a guy into it all anyway, music etc..it's very interesting hearing their convos...but their mannerisms and how they play off each other. How sometimes Dave makes em go huh? or squirm..I think sometimes Dave will say something and like hive minded twins both brothers will both do a little bit of a unsure huh in unison as it keeps rolling. Other topics they all laugh and agree crawling over each other with fun reminiscence trying to get out a humorous line.
Gotta love these guys, this shit is great. lol

I hope these keep coming to tide us over during this down time. Shouldn't be too hard to do posts like these every now and then.
This interview series continues to be the most raw and naked I've ever seen the boys in Van Halen be, especially together. Ed even ditches most of the canned answers he has used over the years ad infinitum.
I could watch this 24/7.
Interesting to see them talking about bands of the present.Hit the ground running...

Awesome video. I think it's interesting they talk about how they want to play audiences that aren't necessarily VH fans (at least Dave really dives into the topic). I wonder if after Japan they will play some festival shows where they can try and win some more fans.
I've always wanted to see a modern concert of them at one of those crazy festival shows in South America or Japan where there are 150,000 people jumping up and down going nuts to every act. I feel like US fans are too calm these days to really let loose and do the music justice.
I still think my favorite parts of these videos are the "to be continued" at the endCNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

Japanese crowds aren't, or at least weren't, always rowdy.
I remember watching a Journey video of them doing a song in Japan in the Steve Perry days, and the crowd was politely sitting there, listening, not even clapping their hands.
Don't Stop Believing was the song, but I guess maybe it could have been new at the time and they didn't know it, but still....I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

I think the most interesting behind the scenes tidbit in this video comes at 46 seconds into it. When Dave says Ed had 6 different solos laid down for a song and adjusted the track faders, selecting bits and pieces of each to make one killer solo for the track and then went and learned it(to play live etc).
That is nothing unusual, people do these things in the studio all the time but I never read about Ed doing it...and I wonder which solo in particular Dave was talking about...not that it matters, but it was an interesting nugget I thought.

awesome clip!
you can see that they get along great. sure, eddie looks sometimes annoyed that dave won't shaddap and let him fully answer a question. but that's just "marriage" ;-)
i for one, would LOVE for van halen to play festivals and win over some new fans.
a mentioned here previously, Van Halen headlining Coachella would be EPIC!
also dug their conversation about basically what it means to be a ROCK STAR. and not some hipster whiny band who acts like they have cooler shit to do than entertain YOU.
that's what's missing in rock. and rock has suffered. some current acts behave like they are too cool to keep you entertained. so what does the public do? they gravitate towards lady gaga, nicky minaj, etc. sorry, but people want to be entertained...
shit, even kurt cobain "got it". he was a magnetic frontman and kept the audience engaged. but apparently that's not cool anymore?

I love these videos but that effect at the end of all of them is really creepy.
