DTM is a very simple riff. Very basic. But it works. Guitar, bass and drums are in lockstep.
Also the guitar sound is massive. Way better than VHIII.

These simple riffs, from RWTD to ATBL, were always part of Ed's arsenal. He also did complex riffs. But when he tried to do prog-like riffs on VHIII, it didn't work.

The riffs from RWTD and ATBL are light years better than the riff from DTM(WLCD). I will just never understand the love for that song.

In retrospect it's stunning that someone this egotistical had the sense to back out after the VMA reunion. I always thought it meant he just took a realistic view of the situation, now I'm assuming he was a total crybaby and probably had some kind of total meltdown after watching it.

Here is what I don't understand about "oh woe is me" Mitch

From my understanding, he accepted the job and then heard about Dave. He quit. He wasn't fired or dismissed like George Lynch a few weeks into Ozzy. He was scared of what was to become and said "nope...." That's on him. I also find it hard to believe that what he came up with on this video is what he was doing in 1997 or whenever it was when Eddie gave him the tape. This is him using a VH song, adding his element without the feedback of the band. Regardless of what singer was in the band, I am fairly certain that the singer and band would go back and forth on vocal ideas. "Hey that melody is cool.....ehhh not digging that other stuff"

This is him singing over a VH track. Its not VH, its Mitch Malloy living in a fantasy world with revisionist history.
