That riff is 1000 times better than his riff from Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do).

Fire In The Hole is the only tolerable song on VH III.

He overextends the riffs and creates zero groove. Also I'm pretty sure this riff was created without Alex, that's why it doesn't groove at all.

LD, sorry, but it is WAY better than that lame ass riff from DTM(WLCD) which sounds like a very poor man's attempt at copying something from Alice In Chains. Brett agrees with me about DTM(WLCD). The epitome of blagh.

DTM is a very simple riff. Very basic. But it works. Guitar, bass and drums are in lockstep.
Also the guitar sound is massive. Way better than VHIII.

These simple riffs, from RWTD to ATBL, were always part of Ed's arsenal. He also did complex riffs. But when he tried to do prog-like riffs on VHIII, it didn't work.
