I will never ceased to be amazed by how "Panama" is followed by "Top Jimmy". I love how there's barely a pause between the raucous, shouty end of Panama, and the low-key beginning of Jimmy. It was a genius stroke of contrasts to put those songs back to back.
What are the sequences that you dig the most?(pretty smile)

That's a good one Betty Boop! I also like Mean Streets and then Dirty Movies.

I've never really given this much thought. The only one that really comes to mind is 1984 into Jump. That was the first VH I ever bought and put on the turntable (yep, I said that), and it always takes me right back to hear that. The sound of 1984 as it fades out is just incredible, as exciting to me as any VH tune!!

Wow, I have to agree with Glenn here. I can listen to the 1984 instrumental over and over again - just a beautiful piece of music. Then, when those last notes fade just long enough for the low C of "Jump" to crash in, everything tells you that you are about to listen to one of the most finely crafted albums ever written and released.

Someone mentioned the pause between 1984 and Jump. I love that moment too. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of when I first heard it, all those years ago. Not to be a snob, but it sounds best on vinyl, with all the hiss and crackle.
I also dig Cradle/Everybody Wants Some!! as the lead off to WACF...those two together are like the badassed twin brothers of VH sequences...

Indeed. Fuck Memorex. That is live and raw.

Now, about that turntable in the car idea. It has to be possible, somehow. Maybe a turntable that played LPs the size of those Mini-Disc things (whatever happened to those?? Does Kelloggs still make them?), and you could velcro the whole thing to your dash, and the arm would be heavy enough so the needle wouldn't skip.
Of course, you could take a regular sized deck and put it on the passenger seat. Passengers would be relegated to sitting in the back seat, where they would cue up the records we demanded.(pretty smile)

I have to agree with you that vinyl sounds so much better. If I could put a turntable in my car, I would. CD's suck.

Some good ones have been mentioned so far. I'll add Hear About It Later/Unchained.
