Maybe Satch is a pain in the ass to deal with? Maybe Sammy doesn't want to spend his remaining shows focusing on a tiny part of his career (that is the least commercially successful)? End of the day, he'll play the same venues as a solo act as he would as part of CF. This isn't like he's joining VH again.

I still think if CF was an arena filling act, there would still be a CF. All of the pressure of being in a VH-esque band with none of the rewards? I can see what Sam was/is thinking.

If Sam is going to play clubs instead of arenas, he probably wants to be able to play his entire catalog.

I'm just looking at the date of this thread.....CFIII will have been released 10 years ago exactly next month (9/27/11). I know they say that time flies but holy shit.

I do wish Chickenfoot had continued. It felt like a proper band, whereas The Circle just feels like Sammy's latest iteration of a solo band.

I also think it's some of Joe Satriani's best work. His solo albums/playing don't capture me, but I felt he worked pretty well in this band's context.

If Sammy cared about creating his best possible music, he would be with Satriani right now. I think he just wants to have fun with his friends touring. Vic must be a super easy going guy.

Vic is not even close to the level of Satriani IMO.
