SAMMY HAGAR: 'DAVE LEE ROTH Is Unreasonable And He's Shot' - Nov. 23, 2002

In a recent interview with CNN, vocalist Sammy Hagar revealed that the possibility of rekindling his friendship with the Van Halen brothers was his primary motivation for touring with Dave Lee Roth this summer as part of the laboriously titled "Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth Tour 2002: Song for Song, the Heavyweight Champs of Rock and Roll". However, according to Hagar, it didn't take him long to realize that a VH reunion involving Roth would be impossible.

"Seeing what kind of person Dave is, now I know why they have never been able to do the reunion with him because he is unreasonable," Hagar said. "He's a complete nut. He is not an average bear. He's on the moon. He's unreasonable and he's shot."

Though the Hagar-Roth-Van Halen "happy family" reunion he had hoped for didn't pan out, Hagar believes he will eventually reunite with the band.

"To me it is inevitable," he said. "I am not saying it is in the oven right now, but I know it is inevitable. It's just a matter of time when Eddie and Alex get their lives together ... You can't let such a great band like that just go away and die."

Man, I really like Sammy Hagar, I think he is a far better singer than David Lee Roth and I like both eras of Van Halen pretty equally, (might favor Dave-era a litte bit, but I still love Van Hagar), but god damn! Get over it already and shut the fuck up! He should talk about his album or something. Quit wasting his energy on putting Dave down. Every Time I hear about another interview where he says this kind of stuff I lose a little more respect for the guy.

Nah not getting mad man......we aussies are pretty laid back. I'm just sure that none of you would own any Sammy era VH albums the way y'all carry on. Just joining in is all.
