Oh don't get me wrong, there will be some validity to Sammy's venom regarding the EVH portions of the book but I am also quite sure that there will be gross exaggerations throughout it as well.

LOL, ok. Now you're losing it. When on did Sam ever say that VH was nothing until he joined? I must have missed that interview.

When Dave and Eddie got back together, Sam said that VH needed to reunite with Dave one last time and felt it was a shame that Mike wasn't involved to make it a true reunion.

Considering how much Sammy probably can't stand Dave, I think its funny how Sammy does a lot of the same exact stuff.

Dave and VH separate--Dave hires hot shot gunslinger Vai. Dave writes book.

Sammy and VH separate--Sammy hires hot shot gunslinger (and friend of Vai's) Satriani. Sammy writes book.

I'm oversimplifying, but Sammy does seem to repeat a lot of whatever Roth does.

You're forgetting that Sam hired Vic first. He did not want an Edward clone or a gunslinger.

And how many decades between Dave's book and Sam"s release?

I'm sure it'll be a good read and that he'll be complimentary of Ed in most of the book. They were best of friends for a pretty decent amount of time.

Of course form the outside people would see DLR and SH as very similar singers from the same era of music.

Yes. It's even on video. He stated it in his Long Road To Cabo DVD. He wanted to build a band of musicians with different tastes and flair.

I know working with Van Halen couldn't have been the easiest thing in the world for him, and if he mixes in some nice things and some good stories about his time in VH, I'll give him a pass on airing some dirty laundry.

I would be shocked if it's a complete bash job, I think Sam's better than that. And why shit on the most popular, successful, prosperous part of your career?
