Well if the money was split down the middle each band would have brought in about $4.8 million. Thats considering if they keep the money of course.

I don't know if it is BS but seems like I heard they got $50,000 per show plus part of the tixs. Seems like Hagar also said that the city of Cabo wanted him to pay $50,000 to hold a concert outside during his B-Day Bash so everyone could see the show. He said that he was used to making $50,000 a show not paying that.
They played 41 shows so I would guess about 2.6 million each. Of course taxes take almost half so that puts it about 1.5 million. Then they pay the band and other help, pay to move the stages. Neither one of them spent a dime on cloths, Dave pulled out the 1984 gear and Hagar, well just look at him. I bet Sammy also had to give MA some cash each time he showed up.
My guess and only a guess would be that both had about an extra million in the account after the tour.
You can see why Hagar would get pissed that Dave didn't do promos for the shows. Dave sat back let Hagar do all the promo work and walked out on stage and collected his 60-65K per night. If you want a little peace, sometimes you got to fight

I have a theory that he blew what money he made on the Sam & Dave tour making cheesy ELO covers and now he has to sue the band for pocket money.

I know that each member of Rush received $35K per show for the summer tour. They did 61 shows so that's about $2.135 Million each for 4 months work. Not bad. I believe Sam and Dave were payed less than Rush.

But Sam also got the write-off for any losses for the incessant Cabo Wabo promotion.
I bet that guy loves Tax Day.

I spoke with a friend in the promotion end of the business, and based on the gross he figured each of them got $400,000 to $600,000 after all was said and done. But he said that's a very rough estimate based on not knowing any details about how the tour was run.
Also, someone pointed out that Sammy said he's used to making $50,000 per show. Given his track record of exagerration, he is probably used to making something less than $50,000 per show.

As far as I know it’s just aesthetic but just not sure why they’d make that change. Then again Fender is a big corporation so they probably had some focus group that said square routes offer better...
