Got this email today from Blender Magazine:
Blender Magazine's:
50 Greatest Rawk Albums of All Time
Where would this great country of ours be without hard rock? Nowhere! No tight trousers, no hairspray for men, no over the top pyrotechnics - it would be like living in communist Russia. This month, Blender salutes the 50 Greatest Rawk Albums Of All Time. The Blender editors have combed the music archives, to assemble a collection of music that strikes a chord with your rebellious side.
So let Blender along with rawk veterans Fred Durst, Slash, Nikki Sixx, Angus Young, Rob Halford and Andrew W.K. guide you through the most teeth-grinding, ear-splitting, brain-liquidizing rawk albums you've ever seen!
Here are just a few of the bad-ass albums that made our list of the 50 Greatest Rawk Albums Of All Time:
46) Lynyrd Skynyrd Street Survivors
42) Ratt- Out of The Cellar
33) Rage Against The Machine- Rage Against The Machine
30) Mötley Crüe- Shout At The Devil
23) Public Enemy- It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back
21) Joan Jett I Love Rock-N-Roll
18) Metallica Master of Puppets
11) AC/DC- Highway To Hell

Well, "Nevermind" is an important album and should be at least in the top ten. The top two albums listed were AC/DC's "Back in Black and GN'R's AFD.

Achievements:
Someone name me ONE band that shows any sort of influence by Nirvana or any of the Nirvana band members.
Technically? Don't think so.
Lyrically? Nope. "I Hate My Life" lyrics were around before Nirvana.
Vocally? Nope.
How about Van Halen?
Technically? case closed right there.
Lyrically? Maybe, maybe not.
Vocally? DLR's scream. I rest my case. SH's screech. I rest my case.I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

It's not really that much bullshit, VH has been popular in NA and stuff, but I kinda equate it to The Tragiacally hip for the simple reason that in Canada they sell out Arena's, in the US they are just another bar band. In Europe VH open's for Bon Jovi. I hate Nirvana, but that list doesn't look to far off the mark to me.
Life is something that happens when your planning something else.

Van Hagar opened of Bon Jovi, but I doubt that the original line up would have.

Is Andrew W.K. really a "rawk veteran"?
I did not know that. What did he do before singing cheesy dance-metal?Staying Frosty

If you look at all the popular "rock" tunes today, they sound nothing like Nirvana. I'm not saying they take their cues from VH, but there's definitely a hint of Van Halen in all the popular rock tunes today - especially Van Halen I.

As far as the Nerdvana "influenza" goes it's only because of real alternative bands like the Meat Puppets and the other bands that Kunt ripped off that we think Nerdvana "influenced" other bands.
The only people who were upset about Kunt No-Brain dying were his bisexual and gay junky buddies from his home town whom he gave heroin to for oral favours.
