Do you think Eddie can still play "Hot For Teacher"?

....after all, he hasn't played it in concert in almost 20 years now. Maybe that's why there hasn't been a Van Halen reunion. Maybe Eddie is embarrassed that he can't play the song. Same with Alex...maybe the intro to Hot For Teacher, and him trying to learn to play it again but failing, is the straw that broke the camel's back (so to speak).

The answer, of course, is that their skills have deteriorated. Eddie and Alex can no longer play the hard parts to their old songs. My solution: dumb down the songs. Maybe, instead of the really fast triplets at the beginning of Hot For Teacher, Alex could just hold a tape recorder with the his old drumming on it up to the microphone. And if he's not able to hold up the tape recorder, maybe he could hang it on a symbol stand.

Oh, and by the way...if you've read this and are taking what I say seriously, you need to get a life. Sexual intercourse and playing basketball are among conceivable possibilities.

P.S. Except, I meant it seriously when I said that Alex Van Halen looks like a camel. Maybe Eddie should ride on his back?

i think it was during the fuck tour, they showed eddie, alex, and mike back stage jamming to hot for teacher they sounded awesome. so yes i think he can still do it.

I'm sure there's ALOT of stuff that Eddie hasn't played in forever that he would be rusty on.

but if he has to play it live I'm sure he'd practice the hell out of it.

I remember a quote from Dave about 4 years ago that said something like "Eddie will practice the same like 500 times in a row. That's the kind of guy I want to play with"==something like that.

Eddie himself admitted that he had to relearn a lot of his old songs for the VDIII tour. He said that he couldn't believe he played them in the first place.

I bet there's a few VH tunes out there he would have to bust his ass to re-learn.

No doubt he could play it (or anything from his back catalog) but he would probably have to re-learn it. No crime in that! It's called "rehearsal"...
