I had this written down on the calender, but KLOS no longer offers streaming audio. If it's true, someone in Cal. please let us know what is said. Thanks!

Dave is closing the show right now, playing Ice Cream Man! It was hilarious. Trademark Daveisms and all..

    Dave rules!

I'm so bummed the L.A. show is sold out. I won't see Dave this time! Grrr!
My first time in the spotlight was from a helicopter.

    Campy.

That's the word that came to mind when Dave walked out on that Vegas stage last summer in his Lime Green get-up and that's the way I'd describe the unplugged VH tunes he served up today.

I love Dave as much as anybody but he comes off as a bit campy now. He did today on the Mark and Brian radio show.

Plug him in and he will certainly rock this summer!

Heres my report on the interview / show:

Dave opened the show with a song called, "When It's Love Time." Then acoustic "Jump," then acoustic "Mean Street."

Dave said his "No Holds Bar-B-Q" DVD will be on sale at the end of the Summer.

A caller asked if he'll ever reunite with Van Halen. Dave's answer: "Eddie Van Heineken has some issues; I'll hold MY breath, but, don't hold yours." Mark/Brian said that Eddie has said that the lawyers have held everything up. Dave said, "we've heard that for the last 16 Summers."

    Acoustic "Panama."

Mark/Brian brought up "The Atomic Punks." Dave said, "'The Atomic Punks' are kind of a farm team for this. David Lee Ralph keeps me honest. He's the 2nd best action figure in the business."

    Acoustic "Little Dreamer."

A caller asked if Dave would join Sammy on stage. Dave said anything's possible, but he said that he's not good at improvising, that "I don't jam, I'm an action figure."

    Acoustic "Ice Cream Man."

Interesting on the Heinken comment. I hope with everything Ed has had to deal with in the last few years, he's not back to drinking on top of everything else. That would be a shame. The smoking and the drinking are not good for his health. I wish he'd realize that and find another outlet.

Here's the revue from a Dave basher.

I'll just touch on a few things off the top of my head.

When Dave did sing (I would say they played snippets rather than a whole song) he sounded pretty good. Again, I think if he would tune down a whole step instead of a half he would have no problems. Also reaffirms for me if he would do less dancing and more singing he would sound much better. He should hire some back up singers for the tour cause his back up band doesn't cut it in the vocal department. (Way off key.) Overall a

Typical Dave here. Rarely answered a question directly, avoided some all together. By saying a bunch and still saying nothing.

They asked about a reunion. He said "I'll hold my breath but don't you hold yours". They said they had heard Eddie say that it was basically tied up by lawyers. He avoided that question in the typical Dave manner. Reffered to Eddie as Edward Van Heinikin. That was the worst the Bro bashing got.

He was pretty kind talking about Sammy. THe worst he said was "Sam brings the party on stage with him, and I am the party". (Nothing new there.)He also said they will flip flop most nights but in certain citys they will be giving lee way to the other guy if he reall want's to open or close certain shows.

They asked him about the Atomic Punks, Long story short he said that David Lee Ralph keeps him honest (????) and that Ralph is the second greatest performer in the world. (Or sumpin to that effect.)

The way I understood him, (It aint always easy. He is a verbal tornando! ) he will have video screens on a fairly bare stage and will be showing clips from the DVD. (Shudder) They will also be selling the DVD on the tour and it will be released in Sept.

Overall it was very entertaining, (although he repeated a few lines where I just had to ) it sounds like he may be toning the bitterness down.

I'd say that was a fair review - though I'd make a tiny bit more of an allowance for impromptu radio show performances, long as the background vocal shit is tight on stage. Also interesting was Dave's out-of-hand dismissal of the EVH "ready-to-go-but-for-the-lawyers" dance move. "We've been hearing that for what, the past sixteen summers..." (??)

You gotcha luvas and ya hatas. As usual, Diamond Dave provided plenty of fodder for both. A Bug jes' hopes he gits out to tha show...

    Dave is a verbal tornado?!!

That is one of the best analogies I've ever heard about him.

That doesn't make any sense. Why bother having something produced, and then limit the distribution like that? Dave, if you're never going to tour here, at least make your products available here.

I heard him say that they were going to show parts of it on the 30-foot big screen on tour.

Not that any of this matters. I was just replying to Glenn's post, based on what I heard.
