    Dune part 2

I love this movie but I keep falling asleep. I didn't expect Austin Butler and forgot about Josh B. it's such a simple but long story. Don't trust the women.

I still got about 30 min till end. Tried watching 3 times this week.

    Thumbs up

    Both Dune movies are awesome!

I need to rewatch this 2nd one once again.

Saw one of them in the theater, can't remember which one. It failed what my kids call "the dad test" on whether a movie is good or not.

I don't wanna give away spoilers but I think this is the way the world will end. It won't be an asteroid or comet, at least not for a long time. It will be a supernova or gamma ray burst. If it happens close to Earth, it will knock out our power grid. In other words, lights out. We'll end up destroying ourselves in the aftermath. Welcome to the Apocalypse.

    it's that time of year...

i don't care if it's filled with inaccuracies. I love seeing Daytona and the other tracks as they looked back then. I love the cars - both the models - Luminas, Thunderbirds, Grand Prix - and the sponsors that adorned them. I love Robert Duvall's portrayal of Harry Hogge. I love the sound.

Afterward, i found a YouTube video about the filming locations and I was totally blown away to find out that the scene where Cole and Dr. Lewicki are driving their jeep in "North Carolina" to see Rowdy was actually filmed less than five miles from me! If you look at the scene, there is a pickup truck coming onto the road, and that truck is coming out of the parking lot (obscured by trees) where there is a shopping centre which is home to my second string Winn-Dixie (there's also a McDonald's on the back end of the plaza that I sometimes hit when i'm heading north). The scene with Cole in the laundromat was shot downtown (it's a pizza joint - don't know if it was a laundromat back then but i can't see why you would redress a restaurant as a laundromat when there were actual laurndromats they could've used) and the adjacent track where we see a couple of cars drive around was actually what is now the Chipper Jones ball fields which are a few blocks away (hollywood magic). Also the scene with the fake state troopers was shot by the St. John's River in Astor, a bridge I've crossed a time or two. I know you folks in California probably can't drive more than a couple of miles without passing some kind of film scene but to find out these scenes were shot in my back yard (a little over 30 years before it was my backyard, but regardless) I just find to be pretty cool.

Scotty, what I really liked about the film was that it was different and original. I've always been a nihilist but the last scene was truly awe-inspiring, especially with the soaring music. Up next, unearthly monsters. What to see... Cloverfield or The Mist. Suggestions?

“Becoming Led Zeppelin”. Interesting enough and “Whole Lotta Love” sounded cool in the theatre (though it needed to be in Sensurround). Somewhere there has to be a list of everything Page and/or Jones are reported to have played on before Led Zeppelin - I imagine it’s quite impressive. Can’t recall if I already knew about “Goldfinger” or not. Eagerly awaiting the sequel - “Becoming Van Halen”

Whole Lotta Love studio version will never be replicated live ever. Same with Rock and Roll and a few others.

Somewhere in heaven or hell Peter Grant is smiling. Imagine Peter Grant with Van Halen 78 on?You would have your film Billy and lots more music imo. It's 2025 rock is dead but people are in theatres dancing in the isle with the ghosts of a 1960s band. Ain't life grand! It sure put some zip into my zag and I needed it!
