Finally watched Oppenheimer and while I did enjoy it, its too long. I didn't like the time jumps however I understand the non-linear storytelling is Nolans calling card. Great acting and I can't imagine how people bitched about Barbie losing out to this. Very good movie but simply a bit too long.

Best parts was the making of the bomb itself. Probably why I enjoy the movie Fat Boy and Little Man better. I also got a bit confused with all of the scientists. Couldn't really keep up. Knew Freddie Mercury was Hill. Fermi got lost in the shuffle. Josh Harnett was there. The H Bomb dude. Outside of that the scientists kind of lost in the wash. That other movie was better with who was contributing what.

That may be one of his most memorable movies for me, when he turned around at the end.
    Dealing with it.

Cool movie for sure. I still remember seeing it with friends at the theater all those years ago. Everybody in the audience screamed when the dog popped up on the street!

I was fascinated by the Donner Cut when it was finally released, but really, I have a spot in my heart for both. The Lester Cut is what I saw w/ my Dad when I was a boy, and obviously what we all grew up with. Immediately came home and was pretending my green toothbrush was the Green Crystal. I could tell you what I ate that day. I remember pacing up & down my driveway waiting for my Dad to return home w/ the tickets, and my neighbor asked if I was going to come over and play, and I shouted, “I can’t! My Dad is taking me to see Superman II!!!”.

    Oppenheimer

Enjoyed it. It wasn't as "long" for me because I broke it down. Hour here. 45 there. That's how I watch films anyway. There's no way I could sit through that in one sitting or even the theater.

Plus, when I watch a historical film, I get mini obsessed in a way and start Googling the people portrayed. To think there was a chance that the bomb could have ended the world and they still went through with it is scary shit.

    Despite almost "zero chance."

    Apocalypse Now.

Finally saw this all the way through. What a boring movie. Don't get the hype. The first half was great (Duvall and all that) until they got to this weird French plantation scene that made absolute no sense to me. Bogged the movie down. I go to Wikipedia to see what that is all about. Wasn't even mentioned in the plot section.

The rest of the movie, after that, Willard finally reaching Kurtz. I was tuned out by then.

I thought it sucked, at least an hour to long.

That would be my review as well. First half of the movie is great, then it goes into a combination of WTF/snoreville.

Chris, that plantation scene was stupid but I guess it gave Willard a chance to smoke some opium and get laid. This was the best part of the movie:

"Bad Boys: Ride Or Die" - I don't think any new ground is broken but still enjoyable. Annoying though, in the "Front and Center" stuff before even the previews there is some dude talking about all of the movies coming out that have alphabet soup people in them - "thank you for supporting alphabet soup people". I ain't supporting shit. If there's a movie that looks good to me, I don't care about the actor's sexual disorientation or the colour of their skin or whether they are liberals - I go for the story and the way it's presented.
