    Kraven the Hunter 2024

Not god awful but also nothing to recommend. Too many characters (especially the villains) and really weak story points.

Kraven's origin just doesn't make sense and is annoying... a sip of a magic potion makes him what he is. No other real explanation... lame.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is great in the action scenes that are the best parts of the movie... but some of the CGI looks a little nasty with some of the animals. Some really great Range Rover flips, tumbles, wipe outs and such.

Pretty sure Taylor-Johnson in real life has a British accent, but here he is playing a guy with Russian heritage but with a full on American accent. Kraven is not even a bad guy, just basically an assassin.

    Conclave

The College of Cardinals electing a new pope, is not something that seemed, to me, to be a subject for a compelling for a movie. I was wrong. Fiennes, Lithgow, Tucci, and the rest of the cast turning in excellent performances. I understand why this film got so many Oscar nominations. I knew there was some sort of surprise ending, but I would never have guessed what the surprise was.

    Would recommend.

Some of the violence is REALLY over the top...I can stomach much of what is shown - but there were a couple of 'oh wow cringe moments' for sure.

I got half way through and decided to finish at a later date. I found it all emotionally bleak and slightly exhausting.

Finished last night. Deeply disturbing. Maybe the heaviest vampire film I've ever seen. Don't think I've ever seen a vampire movie end quite like that before.

I really like director Robert Eggers style. I'm on a mission now to see The Witch 2015, The Northman 2022 and rewatch The Lighthouse 2019.

My cousin took her mother to see it and my Aunt rarely goes to movies. I took her to see the Judy Garland biopic and that was probably the first time she had been in a theatre in a decade

And she loved this. Said it was amazing. I wanted to see it but with a run time of 2 hours and 41 minutes? I think that watching it on a smaller screen is a small price to pay for not being held captive in a movie theatre for 3 hours.

And this is only part 1! part 2 comes out one year to the day of part 1 being released.

    The Birdcage (1996)

Starring Robin Williams, Nathan Lane and Gene Hackman. Hilarious comedy. It actually made me feel like I was gay like the characters!

Yeah I hear you on The Birdcage. After seeing it I slept with blew a guy. Then did it to another 6 guys just to make sure.

Seriously that is such a great movie.
Number 47 - Northman is kind of fucked up. Good and Bjork is in it playing something that you would expect Bjork to play.

I had the same experience with Brokeback Mountain.

Bought a cowboy hat and went to Texas, and everything. Turns out though the Houston bar crowd don’t take too kindly to people walking in their establishments wearing a shirt saying, “Feed me Whiskey and COCK, pilgrim” in daisy dukes and a Stetson.

Like a fine wine, it gets better with age.

Simply a perfect film with some of the best performances you’ll ever be lucky enough to witness on screen.

MF, yep it's a classic but I think I like the sequel better. The one with Julianne Moore as Clarice. I've always had a thing for gingers. And Anthony Hopkins was awesome as usual!
