It was ok. Had about 93 different minor plot lines going on that didn't get flushed out. Willem Dafoe is great in it, and Michael Keaton is always good.

    Overlord (2018).

Horror set in WW2 about American soldiers vs Nazis and the results of their attempt to create the 1000 year soldier.

    Bloody good, gory fun.

my best friend lives in another state, so we frequently get together on discord to watch movies together. We started out annual 2 man halloween film festival and so far here's what we've watched. All classics:
Night of the living dead 1990
    dawn of the dead
return of the living dead 1-3
    night of the demons 1-3

I can't imagine paying to go to the movies now.

I saw Maverick in 2022 was it? Eh... I received a ticket as a birthday gift. I can't justify giving Hollywood more money in 2024.

Doing so is self-destructive behavior. In my opinion.so, I mostly stick to old stuff.

SloMo, next time check out Day Of The Dead from 1985. It's also from George A. Romero and is probably the best in the series. The original NOTLD is still my fave but Day was off the hook!

Day is by far the best of Romero's work. A superb film with some insane gore sequences.

And Dawn of the Dead 2004 is the best of them all.

Disagreed. The movie has a few minutes of good gore and nothing else.

    Ganymede 2024

When a small town wrestling star develops a crush on an openly gay classmate, he begins to be stalked by a grotesque creature that invades his thoughts, all the while struggling to live up to the standard set by his legacy-obsessed dad.

Hardly linker fare, but a pretty decent low-horror film where the real monsters are humans, religion, non acceptance and ones own mind.

Day really doesn't have anything other than a few minutes of good gore. its like, if these people are all that is left of humanity, humanity needs to go bye bye. Awful characters, poor location and almost no character development.

It's mainly an hour and a half of unlikable characters screaming at each other.

    Just not a fan.lol

Well it's a horror film so what did you expect... zombie character development? They did come close with Bub. He sure loved his leg of man!

There is character development in Dawn. It's the best film in the series despite the questionable comedic elements in the final act.

The 1970's was a great era for horror, but a number of horror movies mistakenly added some comedic stuff where it shouldn't have been added.

Last House on the Left for example added all that goofy bumbling cop shit that undercut what most of the movie was trying to do. Craven was lucky that he still got work after making that movie.

    Uglies 2024

Stupid, fun dystopian teen drama. Logan's Run for a new generation. I liked it. I need to check out McG's directing resume since Charlie's Angels... he's either slumming or found a new groove. It's well made with a story.

Edit: Just saw and forgot he did a Terminator movie. I liked it, it's a universe to follow.

I've missed all his other movies up to Uglies.
