    Default Last Movie You Saw

    Glory - 8.4/10

Seriously can't believe I'd only stumbled upon it via imdb's "recommended movies". For something so good, I should have heard about it much earlier.

Loved it, and I realized with the right equipment tech guy, I could play guitar for U2.

I had no idea how simple his riffs were without his effects.

    "Up".

Usually a giant Pixar fan, but something about this flick started to make me drowsy about 3/4 of the way in.

^ agreed. "Up" was just frigging weird, yeah it has a moral to the story - blah blah. I started to watch it expecting some good laughs but it just seemed.. hollow. It wasn't Shrek 4-bad, but I didn't like it.

I must have cried four times watching that movie. Geez, who thought that an old guy reflecting back on his dead wife who wasn't able to have children and is going to be moved into an old folks home by a greedy corporate monster ends up hanging out with a lonely little boy whose father doesn't have time for him would make a good plot for a kid's movie needs to rethink things. I thought it was an excellent movie but a really weird story line for a kid's movie.

Last movie was Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Saw Eat, Pray, Love with a bunch of friends. Whew....it sucked. Julia Roberts was Julia Roberts (yawn) and I couldn't figure out what exactly her crisis was. She was in an "eh" marriage. And she got out, with little fuss.
Then she traveled all over the world, met some cool people, and got it on with some really hot dude who fell in love with her. Oh, the angst!!

Thankfully, a couple of friends who had read the book (and I've read reviews to similar effect) said the movie totally missed the mark. Or the point.

Anyway, many margaritas later, with some eye candy at the table next to us, we all agreed the GNO wasn't a total loss.

    "The American" with George Clooney

I wouldn't recommend it. Too slow and strange, it's not the action spy thriller the previews suggest it is.

I don't think I've seen a movie in a theatre since before my son was born until this weekend when we took him to see a Thomas movie.

    2 girls 1 cup.

Amazing soundtrack. So-so cinematography, but an astonishing portrayal of a deep and sometimes confusing journey into the psyche of two unconventional and doggedly determined young women.

    Epic.

"Pirate Radio" - kind of like "The Titanic" only with better music! I gave it 3 stars on Netflix.

And before that it was "Octopussy"!

I convinced my husband to go see it thinking it was an action film, and as you said, it's really not - he hated it. Other than a couple high intense action scenes, the movie is more of a contemplative piece, moving slowly on purpose, and with hardly a word spoken by Clooney. The directing was smart, unique, and beautiful. I thought it was a very good film, but I like all that artsy shit.

Get Netflix. For $9 a month, you can watch quite a few adult movies per month, stream some of the them either on your computer and/or TV and they have a ton of movies for the kids that you can stream as well. Totally worth the money. I'm like you, most of my theater movies are kids movies. Alpha and Omega is out on Friday and the kids are already begging to go see it.
