Last Movie You Saw
I’m sure I’ve done this before in the Bond thread, but if I had to rate them based on what I like:
Roger Moore
Sean Connery
Daniel Craig
Timothy Dalton
Pierce Brosnan
George Lazenby
I actually really liked Timothy Dalton and I probably would rank him maybe a little higher if he had done one more movie. I know some people think he was too serious in the role, but I thought he was good.Webmaster

The Timothy Dalton seriousness was such a departure compared to the latter Moore flicks that I can understand why that could be a jarring transition for people. Then again, Craig's movies were very serious compared to the ones that came before and those are awesome, so who knows. I like all of the people that have played Bond and I don't think any of them were bad, it's just like choosing my favorite VH song or flavor of ice cream.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

Awards:
I am sure mine has changed over time. I like all the Bonds, but here is how I rank them:
Connery (the top spot is his, no matter what)
Daniel Craig
Roger Moore
Pierce Brosnan
George Lazenby
Timothy DaltonIf I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.
Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"
David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Journey's End 2017
Really good WWI trench warfare story based on the 1928 stage play. Great cast.
Optimistic rookie youth vs grizzled veteran reality... but all heroes, the lot of them.
I really hope I can find the 1930 version directed by James Whale. That would really be a treat.
Edit: Cool! Just found the 1930 version on DVD at MovieDetective.net for about $16 after S&H. Looking forward to this.

"Lost Horizon". Curiosity was piqued by a sample in "A Wish For Wings That Work" so finally threw it on my queue. The film has been butchered over the years so some of the footage was pretty bad (not to mention the 7 minutes that are missing and only audio). In some ways, kind of reminded me of something "Star Trek" would do - a place not to be believed that most of the crew come to accept while there's always that one guy...

“Fisherman’s Friends” - while the group is real, I guess the story told in the movie is not. Still, a charming movie in which I knew none of the actors!

Think I first saw this movie when I was maybe 7?
Funny stuff even as a kid.
Notice that there is one take here. Not a bunch of editing and shit.
It's funny to watch the old guy in the back slowly losing it.
It's these sort of things that director's today do not understand.
You just know throughout the scene that a big burst of laughter is coming... The one shot of everyone builds up the anticipation for it.
Michael Caine on Jaws: The Revenge:
"I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built and it is terrific."

Ted and Donn were one unit. They had worked together for a long, long time before Van Halen, and you can hear their signature sound on everything, even the beefheart album they did sounds like they...
VH 1 secretly remixed by Donn...
