    The First Omen 2024

I thought this was a very well done prequel. The music was used to great effect.

    The Omen 1976

Couldn't help but watch after seeing the above movie. Haven't seen this in a very long time, but it still holds up very well.

    Damien: The Omen II 1978

Couldn't stay awake so need to get back to it. Another well done movie that still holds up.

Saw Twisters Friday night. I enjoyed it as a good summer popcorn movie, but the first Twister was better. This movie was essentially a remake of that movie.

I think I read it's set 300 years later... after War for The Planet of the Apes.

Might watch it tonight. It's on Disney/Hulu. I almost paid $20 to watch it Prime about 2 weeks ago. Glad I hesitated.

The Omen from 1976 was a great film. How do you go wrong with Gregory Peck/Lee Remick and a good script?

that's interesting. I wasn't really paying attention for the first few minutes so I missed that. they way they portray humans made it difficult to figure out.

I never appreciated until last night how really good Peck is in the original.

I don't make many comments in this thread because I'm not a big movie going guy anymore but can the big male actors of today even compare to Peck,Richard Harris, O'Toole, Sharif,Robert Shaw or Burton. No CGI, low tech cameras, just acting and a little music sometimes.

Reading up on Omen IV: The Awakening 1991... I see that the antagonist is a girl this time (pre woke agenda Hollywood), but then that would go against everything The First Omen put forth with the Antichrist needing to be a male child. I'll watch it out of curiosity but it sounds like a shit show already.

    Other movies this weekend:

Hot Shots Part Deux 1992 - I thought it was funnier than the first. That Basic Instinct/Sharon Stone parody had me laughing for a good minute. So silly. Lloyd Bridges was doing Biden 30 years before his presidency. lol.

Air Force One 1997 - Silly adventure fun. Way too easy to hijack the plane, but it's a movie. Always loved the "Get off my plane" line and the cable door clamp giving way at the last minute. Two bolts I think holding that thing down between planes... Ha!

Head of State 2003 - This was just OK. Never found Chris Rock too funny in his movies, but give him credit for writing and directing something like this pre Obama.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 2024

Good movie. I really liked how it focused mainly on the apes as a society with humans as a side note.

The cliched 90lb intelligent female was the only downside for me... but she was palatable for what she was. The fact that she was wearing a tank top and nice fitting jeans drove me a bit crazy... until it made some sense later on. I would have rather seen an older, more grizzled and situation weary woman in the role. An established actress with some meat on her bones.

Noa was pretty amazing with his range of emotions and facial expressions. Great acting from Owen Teague. Peter Macon as Raka was also great... but the orangutans usually are.

The timeline is "Many generations" after the last trilogy. I just have to assume that the bucker by the sea is what will eventually become the final showdown cave in the forbidden zone from the original POTA. Chuck Heston's arrival is a very, very long way off yet... if they are even headed in that direction with the story... considering the odd ending.

That's fucking funny. As a rule I hate people. We suck. All fucking idiots. I've done that before. Roll up and not give a fuck. Popcorn, tea and watch a movie. I remember watching the Star Wars one by myself. Kind of had to do it like that cause what I did at that time. Kind of fun though. I've actually done baseball games that way. Keep score etc. By yourself. Out.
