"Jurassic World: Dominion". In all these movies - did they ever manage to get a baluchitherium involved? Anyway, preachy in a couple of spots, but that is ok in a movie about man messing with things he probably shouldn't oughtta anyway. I enjoyed it. Makes me wish i had surround sound at home - the noises coming from various directions was pretty cool.

Achievements:
I watched "Morbius" last night on PPV.
I knew it was poorly reviewed but I was at odds with finding anything to watch so I threw away the $5.99 hoping there'd be some redeeming qualities. Not a fuckin' chance.
Basically, the plot involves Doctor Morbius and his childhood friend (who happens to be a gazillionaire) trying to cure their rare crippling blood disease. Morbius finds a cure via vampire bats (which leads to many batman-esque swarms of flying bat scene rip-offs). At one point, Morbius has a big glass chamber of constantly swarming bats in his laboratory that he often climbs into to commune(?) with.
Anyway, as expected the cure goes horribly wrong, Morbius become a living vampire while his friend becomes an evil vampire dude who wears a nappy business suit and looks like a cross between American Psycho and Evil Ash. Although Morbius can now kind of fly, he inexplicably leaves a smoky red trail (vampire fart mist?) whenever he's in action and has Daredevil-like radar sense complete with overdone CGI visual effects. There's a few minimal tie-ins with the Spiderman universe until the end of the movie when a Spiderman villain (aka: slumming actor) shows up in the end credits scene suggesting a "team-up."
Really, at the absolute bottom of the Marvel related movies. I should have watched "Pink Flamingos" which I just bought on Blu-ray this week.

Awards:
Burnt Money 2000
A sexy, intense crime thriller about a group of violent bank robbers, two of whom are gay lovers known in criminal circles as "The Twins."
Excellent. Cinema.
What a fantastic cast and story. Just a great, gritty crime drama.Last edited by Number 47; 07.04.22 at 01:56 PM.

Finally got to see Top Gun Maverick (you know with it being 'Merica's birthday) and it was better than I thought it would be. Obviously its been out for awhile.
The one refreshing thing is that it again proves you can have a diverse cast yet not make that the focal point of a movie or show. Imagine that. Just write the story.

“Without Remorse” - starring Michael B. “No Shoe Deal” Jordan. Read in the trivia is the only thing it has in common with the source novel is pretty much the title - read the plot for the book on Wikipedia and they ain’t kidding! Why do they do that? There a a couple of Bond titles that are the same way, although at least for the Bond source material, I think the titles are from short stories. All the major Bond novels at least share most plot points with the movie of the same name. Regardless, I found it enjoyable even if maybe others didn’t.

Hellboy 2019
I enjoyed this. Bloody, brutal, monster fantasy.
Are there salt guns big enough to kill the baby stealing fairy bastards?

I, Frankenstein 2014
I got through the whole thing. What a shit show.
I was kind of getting into it, but the plot to resurrect all the demons into all the collected bodies made absolutely no sense and the way they were able to pull it all together in a matter of hours after waiting 200 years made the whole story stupid.
At least we finally got a fully functioning intelligent monster... like the one in the original Mary Shelley novel.

Fatal Attraction
The wife and I caught this the other night on tv. I was surprised when she told me she had never seen it (she only remembers hearing something about the 'rabbit' scene).
It mostly holds up as a quality film, although the end felt a bit more rushed than I remember. Great cinematography.
I gotta say, good cinematography seems like a lost art in today's Hollywood. I see it more in television programs than I do theatrical films.
