Went to the movies yesterday. Matinee at 12:30 on a Monday. It was just us and two other people in the theater. Perfect!

Saw A Quiet Place Part II. It was good. They showed way too much in the trailer, however. I don't think it was as good as the first one, but a solid installment in the franchise nonetheless.

I understand Part III is, of course, in the works, however John Krasinski will not be writing and directing it. I was hoping he would at least finish out the trilogy.

I have so far avoided the trailer, and yeah, I hear what you are saying, I sometimes feel like I don't need to see the movie after watching the trailer.

I was able to see a couple of movies as part of a film festival last week and it was great to be seeing a movie back on the big screen even if they weren't traditional theaters.

iHuman Basically this one is all about the dangers of AI. It's pretty bleak in its assessment and it basically comes away as unavoidable, so if you are really looking forward to a dystopian nightmare of a future, this should be right up your alley.

Back to Maracana This is an Israeli movie set in Brazil during the World Cup, and it's one of the best movies I've seen in awhile. It focuses on a grandfather, his son, and his grandson who travel from Israel back to the grandfather's home in Brazil for the World Cup. Both sets of father and son find their relationships evolve along the way and the backdrop of the fervor of the World Cup in Brazil breathes a lot of life into the movie.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

    Dances with Wolves...

You know, it's a well acted movie... Great to look at, but this movie is a white guilt trip... Noble savage type of ordeal. I remember watching this movie and not liking it even when I was younger, but it took me years to understand why.

From an actor/character perspective... Graham Greene is the highlight. Costner is a bore. Even in his good movies he is rarely the highlight.

It has enough merits for me to give it a 5/10.

It was all over Twitter this morning, hard to miss it.

My guess is that they have managed to get it taken down now, but, it's only chest up, but it's obvious what she is doing.

The three stoners from Workaholics made an action adventure movie.

Dope, violence, guns, blood, guts and dick jokes... and even bloody dicks for the matter.

A Die Hard rip off for the most part. Not really funny but watchable for the utter stupidity.

I watched the updated version of Salems Lot with Rob Lowe. Very different from the original, it's more faithful to the source material. It's not as scary as the original but if you're just sitting around with nothing to do and want to see a vampire movie this will work.

Watched it with my daughter the other night. We also watched the short 'making of' vid on D+ showing how some of the creative team explored parts of Italy to capture all the details for the movie. Definitely a perk of the job.

Mrs JD watched it with our 4 yr old daughter, she'd been getting all the toys in her McDs Happy Meals. Wife said it was a cute movie.

Two older kids went up to their rooms early last night since they were so hot and tired from going to the trampoline park, so I turned on Disney + and decided to watch Rogue One for the first time in years. Yep, by a country mile, it is still easily the best of the Disney SW films, although I really enjoyed Solo as well. Reminds me, unfortunately, of what a clusterfuck mess they made of the new trilogy.
