A fight between DLR and Hagar?

Heard this morning on the John Boy and Billy Radio network, based out of Charlotte, NC. John Boy stated he was backstage at show last night. He said there was quite a bit of tension backstage. He then stated that he would not be suprised if last nights show was the last as "Roth and Hagar got into a fight the night before in Raliegh..."

He made it sound like it was a physical fight not just talking. More details as I hear it...

John Boy: David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar… They’ve been fueding forever… Like DLR was lead singer for VH, then SH came in, they never got along.

Billy: It’s like the interplay between me and Johnny this morning

John Boy: The only thing missing is like you and me fist fighting on the sidewalk

Randy: Oh it’s gonna happen

John Boy: Last night, not last night but the night before last…

Billy: My money’s on Hagar, by the way… DLR looks like Irene Ryan from the Beverly Hillbillies nowadays. Have you seen him lately?

John Boy: Ahhh man… Backstage it was so tense, they got in a fist fight in Raliegh, the night before last

Randy: Seriously?

John Boy: Yeah, seriously… So last nights concert was probably their last show together. The tours probably gonna break up

Billy: And it seemed like such a good idea, too. (laughter)…. It’s like the two Darrin’s from “Bewitched” going out on tour.

This is the second report I've heard of this. I wish I had been backstage Tuesday night!

I would rather pay to see the fist fight than the show! If this is true, I think there is more to it than, "I was the better singer in Van Halen."
Here's my take:

1)One of these guys (DLR) is already in agreement to rejoin VH after this summer tour and that is really kicking the other in the ego.(Sam)

2)There looking for a way out of the tour without having to use the "lack of ticket sales" excuse.

I don't beleive that there is an agreement between DLR and VH to re-join. Based on what I saw last night in Charlotte and Dave's antics, I just do not EVER believe that Ed will share the stage with Dave again. Maybe studio work, but not on stage. Dave will have to seriously act his age before Ed shares the stage with him again. Dave still acts like he is the 1984 Rock and Roll Sex God that he was, and he is not. In a way, I was embarrassed for him.

Sam on the other hand, to me, seems like a more logical front man for a new Van Halen album and tour. Sam does not look his age. Dave looks and quite honestly "his voice" sounds like he is older than he is. But, I think Sam is very happy and having a good time with the Waboritas. I think Sam would love for Mike to join the Waboritas, but Sam just does not want to kick Mona out. Sam's loyal to her it seems.

By the way, Dave never said a word about Sammy or Van Halen in his Charlotte set. Sammy, on the other hand, mocked Dave once by saying "Reach Down between my legs, and ease the seat back" in a low, crusty Dave-like voice during the intro to "Finish What You Started". But, to Sam's credit, at the end of the show during the last song of the encore "Dreams", Sam held up a DLR 2002 TOUR T-shirt and gave a thumbs up [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img] . Then, as he was getting his band together for the last bow, he said "Thanks again to Diamond Dave for playing tonight on this stage".

Sam made one slight Ed remark also during the intro to "Finish What Ya Started", he said that there was ONE THING about Ed, that when he put a guitar around his neck, he wasn't trying to bullshit anybody. Then he called Ed "Mike's buddy" and Mike kinda shrugged his shoulders like "What?".

I heard some rumblings late last light night on the radio that Sam & Dave weren't getting along. That Sammy has "had it" with Dave.

I seen Sam and Mike on VH1 this morning, they were talking about how they were NOT getting alone with Dave at all......showed some pretty cool footage of Mike on stage with Sam.

Well...There might be some truth to it. Sam and Mike were hanging out at the time this tour came together. Plus, didn't Rolsguitar say something along those lines? I forgot.

Didn't Mike say last year in AZ. That "we are going to do it with Dave this time?"

Maybe ment that he & SAM were going to tour with Dave this time.

Well my friends and enemas, it really appears clearer than ever to me that Van Halen will be RED and not Diamond when they make their next album.
