It seems that if you don't want to download the Minneapolis show for free, you now have another option. You can donate some cash in exchange for the "CD" (apparently not a CDR!?) on Ebay. Here's the link, being offered by bullwhip@concentric.net for a starting bid of $15, or you can "buy it now" for $35.

Guys don't give that person any dough. You want the songs, we got them here, download them for free and burn them yourselves! Hell we're gonna have some better versions up real soon too!

The bidding started yesterday and hopefully no one's naive to pay 15. or more + 4. shipping charges for something you can get for free right here.
There's also no mention of sound quality in the ad , which is also a good indication you should keep your cash in your pocket.

And this is why trading (and people here at Links being so cool with this stuff) is so vital to the average fan. I live in Canada so if I bought that for $35 plus $5 for shipping that would cost me $60 after the exchange rate is factored in. You can't build any kind of collection throwing out that kind of money all the time.

Unfortunately, many people do try to start and expand their collections by buying them, the poor schmoes. [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img] I run into them all the time on the web. As long as there's uneducated fools, there'll be sellers making $$$ off of them...

I'm sure virtually every bootleg collector has purchased a bootleg at some point. I know I have; the first 10 or so that I got were from purchasing. Now I've got maybe 200 cd's (not sure how many actual titles that would be), but the first ones came by purchasing. As I said in my previous post though, at the prices I was paying, there's no way I'd have been able to continue buying them at the price they cost around here, so I was lucky to get into trading.

And though I'm against bootlegging for profit, if I saw some really rare bootleg item today for sale, I'd buy it rather than take the chance of missing out.

When I first start collecting VH bootleg CD's, there was NO internet, no trading like there is now. We HAD to buy them back then, and I certainly paid my share of dough.
