This truly is the best van halen album in my opinion, don't ask the critics, this is the best...
Some people put it as "Van Halen's Darkest Album", its not dark, its Van Halen, ok?
1. MEAN STREET: The sound of eds guitar will blow you away. Nothing is like King Edward. The music, the lyrics everything in this song is "PERFECT".
2. "DIRTY MOVIES"- The echo of Alex' drums and ed's intro, Dave ripping out the words. Excellent song, and underrated.
3. SINNER'S SWING- Probably the most rebellious song on this album, GREAT SONG.
4. HEAR ABOUT IT LATER- You may be fooled by the beginning- No its not a ballad, its ROCK. Everything makes sense in this song, my favorite part is after they sing "But I ain't home at night", and then alex beating on the drum, and Eddie comes in with the guitar-- oh! the tone of that wicked guitar! Brilliant!
5. UNCHAINED- Great Song, Great Beat, True Van Halen music right here!
6. PUSH COMES TO SHOVE- underrated song! listen to this one, its great, Solo is killer, take a listen..
7. SO THIS IS LOVE?- I love this song, excellent lyrics and good music!
8 and 9. SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN THE PARK and ONE FOOT OUT THE DOOR- They fade into each other so perfectly. One foot out the door is a really good song, He's Furious with Anger in the song.

TRUE VAN HALEN MUSIC HERE, BUY IT!!

I want to preface this review by letting everyone know that I am a huge Van Halen fan. That being said, let me go on to state that this is one of the worst rock albums ever produced. It is a dismal failure with the exception of three tracks. I don't need to tell you the names of the good songs. They are so easy to distinguish from the rest of the recording.

I was shocked by the number of people giving this album five stars. It really doesn't deserve that. Two stars is more than generous. It's interesting to note that this album continues to rank amongst the worst rock albums ever made by many rock magazines.

If you want the album to complete your VH collection, then buy it. But be prepared to be underwhelmed-

thanks billy007, i still can't believe this guy hated it, they CAN preview the songs on Amazon.

I wrote that and a guide called "So You Wanna Get Into Van Halen" which tells you how to like them.

These two statements were the dead giveaways that this guy is a phony. You simply cannot be a "huge" Van Halen fan (Dave-era anyway), and not at least like FW. I'm not saying you have to totally love it, but to have that negative of an opinion on it is pretty much impossible if you truly are a "huge" fan of Van HALEN, which this guy proves he's not. And of course his other statement about the rock magazines is pure nonsense. Nice try though, buddy!

Hey MS you have such a great taste on music, you're going to become an expert pretty soon.
Roth era VH music is just so special, there's something on those records that it is simply imposible to duplicate, I sincerely don't think they could do it again.
The magic on those albums is just fantastic.
By the way I totally agree with your reveiw.

thanks again! I am pretty much the expert, i mean what 12 year old is Obsessed with Van Halen. What 12 year old like.. Pink Floyd, Led Zep, DLR(solo), Ozzy Osbourne. I'm like the only one in the world that is 12 who likes those bands. I think that is creepy. Just hope there are some people in the Junior High that like those bands..

I have a hunch that i will be famous, although i don't like to get in front of people. I want to be remebered. I can picture me on the Behind The Music. My Mom says: "Jen was always full of energy, she liked all kinds of rock.. especially Van Halen. She started liking them at age 11, and then she became a die-hard fan- and let me tell you, I was glad that she wasn't an Nsync Fanatic anymore",

Maybe your the only one that young, but let me tell you I got my cousin who is now 14 Van HALEN 1 last year and now he has become a fan not a die hard like us but he is learning to play Eruption and I feel great for being responsible.

cool! i tried to get my "FORMER" friend in it. I was in the middle, we always walked around on the playground and talk about stuff, well, we talked about music, and i asked her if she knew the song "You Really Got Me" and she said yes. So then i asked her if i should copy her VH1 and she said yes. and when we weren't friends and she was giving me the silent treatment and i asked her if she still wanted me to burn it, she shook her head yes, and i didnt have blank cds, and i asked her like a week later and i said "I thought you liked Van Halen" and she says "It was an act, i never really liked them". So ya know and the next thing you know she tells me she doesn't like me because her brother thinks i'm a retard? whatever. I ignore that kind of stuff (END)

AND I STARTED HANGING WITH THE POPULARS..

One of their dads came to lunch and i was telling them how i liked classic music. and stuff well Sarah's dad bought her Led Zeppelins Greatest Hit (Latter Days) because i brought them up at lunch.

I know you are a girl, that's what I really admire most, usually girls don't like Dave's era music they like him but not the music, and you are a Great Fan, because you like Dave and Sammy's eras, do you liked Gary's.
