SAMMY"S NERVOUS BREAKDOWN?

Is Sammy having a nervous breakdown? I loved his work in Montrose, but even there w/titles like Space Station #5 and more current ones like Marching To Mars it can be concluded that Sam is indeed obsessed w/all things extraterrestrial. Something happened to Sam at an early age which caused him deep emotional problems. It is now, I believe, manifesting itself in his self destructive interviews which anyone w/a clue could see to be only the ranting of a madman. OR, is it something so incredible that our minds cannot possibly comprehend? Did Sammy indeed have contact w/aliens? Was he "programmed" to help mankind? His new project, Planet US, is something I cannot wait to hear. I believe it's supposed to explain some of these things Sam's been speaking about. Suprise me Sammy. Do it w/this "concept album" and prove me wrong. Bottom line, I think you are either mentally ill or desperate for attention. I hope it's the latter because you're a talented guy and shouldn't waste your time slagging Dave in interviews or making up stories. Even if it's all because of a VH reunion w/Dave, dude just call Ronnie and get MONTROSE back together! Now that was a fuckin' BAND! Fuck this peace, pot, lunar shot shit and make me remember a Sammy I could stomach. ROCK THE NATION!

Excellent topic and post. I am sure many Van Halen fans have thought the same thing you're thinking......but they haven't had the balls to come forth and make the claim.

After watching DLR in his latest video on his website.........one can only come to one conclusion.....

DLR is the future of Van Halen.

I think the sci-fi angle works for him. I liked the Marching To Mars album. Probably would of been a Van Halen album if Hagar didn't leave/get fired.

I think the Dave/Elvis comparison was a bit ironic.

Sam's body is much closer than Dave's is to the late-stage Elvis.

The red pajama-type outfit that Sam wore to the MTV Awards ceremony was rather Elvis-like, as was his bungling lack of knowledge who Linkin Park is.

Elvis married Priscilla, who was many years his junior. Sam married Kari, who was also many years his junior (and abandoned his long-time wife Betsy in the process).

Sam sells Red Rocker shampoo, conditioner, and bath & body oil, Cabo Wabo baby clothes and ladies' bathing suits, etc. -- I never thought about it till now, but these items are remarkably similar to the kitschy, white-trashy souvenirs one can pick up at Graceland.

I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

Too bad you're in Jersey. You could hang out with my band on New Year's Eve for our Fan Appreciation Night show. Many of our fans come to hear us for Montrose alone, so our first set is going to be the entire 'Montrose' album in sequence. If any band out there (besides Montrose) does more Montrose than we do, I'd like to see 'em. Incidentally, my guitar player is a Ronnie Montrose clone.

And (ironically) my guitar player plays out of Neal Schon's Diezel VH4 amp. Maybe we ought to do a Planet Us song...
