I wanted to find the name of the songs on the Van Halen/Cherone second album. I actually managed to find the songs and a description of them from the official site. Here's what almost was:

Note that Gary's hair was begining to look a lot like Sammy's did??

It really hurts going back and thinking of the last 3 years.
Actually we shouldn't even start threads like this one. It doesn't do us any good.

I remember reading that stuff and being really excited about the follow up to 3. Apparently Mikey was suppose to sing on another track and they were to have a revamped version of "That's Why I Love You" appear on the album. I'm sure after making an album with Gary and doing a tour the results on the follow up would have been much better. Danny Kortchmar would have done a much better job in terms of the production than Mike Post did with 3. What could have been I guess.

At least in 1998-1999 we had INFORMATION from the WEBSITE, now we don't even have the QUICK POLL.
Times they Change.
Hope the GOOD TIMES get back.

Well guys, there is some good news I think, here. Now, the DLRND and DLRArmy posted this a while back, but when Eddie Van Halen was on the Celebrity Golf Thig-a-ma-bob, he talked about his material. Now, we all know he talked about how the doctor he was seeing was recommended by DLR. A good sign that they were in communication. But here's the big thing:

2) Van Halen and DLR have recorded from 5-7 songs with Dave. He told me that these could be released with other live, unreleased tracks. This would not be released until the summer tour with Hagar is finished.

So we can look forward to a...I dunno, something like the Smashing Pumpkins did? They *could* release an Album of material with Live stuff from all three eras(Gary, Sammy and Dave), and Unreleased Tracks from each. These could include "That's Why I Love you" which is a solid number, I think, "Between Us Two", the fabled "Van Halen's Stairway to Heaven" that was also the beginning of the end of Van Hagar, and even some tracks from the VH3 Follow Up. And this is pretty recent stuff.

I know you some of you are running low on faith, but I still believe Van Halen will give us something. After making us wait this long, they wouldn't just drop out of the game. Even Eddie couldn't do that.

So you talked with Ed during the Golf thing? Did he actually say 5 to 7 songs?

I was under the impression they only got into the begining stages of a reunion. If what you are saying is true, then the 2000 reunion was full-blown and almost actually happened.

Whoa! I wasn't THERE when he said this, this was reported at DLRND.com, and DLRArmy.com. Check out the article there. Believe me, if he'd said this to me, I'd be flipping off the walls and probably would have annoyed the hell out of him with questions.

But yeah, it looks as if the 2000 thing really happened. F*ckin' lawyers.

you could also add these unreleased tunes to a new album that would be kick ass:

i want some action (from 5150 sessions)
crossing over (from balance sessions)

both these tunes are solid addition to any album of unreleased tracks

Wasn't the music for "Between Us Two" the fabled "Van Halens Stairway To Heaven" used for "A Year To The Day"?
When you hear a song, it can make you remember what you felt, where you were and who you were with the first time you heard it. That's what music can do.

When I get into you, get into me...

“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

David Lee Roth, Edward Van Halen, Michael Anthony, Alex Van Halen, Sammy Hagar.
