It is true. VH and WB have parted ways...

I spoke with Warner Brothers in NYC a few minutes ago. Liz Rosenberg is the person who is handling the press for this matter. WB said she will be releasing a statement (maybe it has been released already?) concerning the split.

WB said the split was "amicable" and the VH were NOT dropped by WB.

I also believe the split was amicable.

To be honest its been 4 years since we last heard a new VH album.
But what has gone on since then?

1) Gary left the group amicably.
2) Eddie had hip replacement surgery
3) questions over Alex's health.
4) Ed's 1-2+ year battle with cancer.
5) Dave is back rumors

Now lets put that all in perspective,
that leaves less than 1 year of activity. They were weel on their way with a new album when Gary left. (thats 1 year)

Ed's health issues (hip & cancer) Thats 2+ years.

Now we are approaching the start of year #4.

Van Halen has parted ways with their label of 25 years, & lawyer of 15 years.

Gee when did they hire this lawyer? I'd say when Dave left right.

It was 2 years between 5150 & OU812, 3 years between Ou812 & FUCK, 4 years between FUCK & Balance.
The delay in putting out new albums is nothing new to this band, and given the circumstances as to why things have taken 4 years to date since the last VH album, it seems unlikely WB dropped them because of lack of production.
It seems like this was the only way out of totally ridding themselves of Ray Daniels. And WB did them a favor by allowing the split to happen.
After all, think of how much money VH made WB in 25 years. Its the least that they could do.

This band is so F8cked up, I 'm surprised WB didn't drop them sooner. The Fans have been screaming for a reunion since 1984. Sammy was able to guide the band through some very successful post Dave years. Yet, even he tired of EVH's dysfunctional egomaniacal drug and alcohol fueled "It's my band " rants. Hence, his own ego fueled "I don't need VH to succeed" attitude. (The same attitude that killed Roth's solo ventures)

The ball is once again in EVH's corner. Can he bring in an unknown singer that he can manipulate, (Gary) or does he have the managerial expertise and savvy to deal with a pro like
David Lee Roth who can restore this band to it's glory days ?
