Why the hell isnt MA doing anything to rectify this fucking band? He hangs out with Hagar, goes and plays at his shows and we all know he is going to be on rockline tonight. Fuck the waboritas, fuck planet us, fuck DLR--this will never happen. ever. That guy is such a fuckin washed up prick I cant even go there. I watched the SaM and Dave show last night and crinched at every comment he made.

Meanwhile, MA is sitting on the couch next to Sammy. These guys are bros and if they dont do it now they never will. Now I hear sammy is splitting a tour with Skynard? Fucking please...

I have not posted in over a year because I have had nothing to say. But it's Hagar or the grave, and everyone should know that by now, especially the band.

And if it isnt going to happen, JUST FUCKING TELL US ALREADY!!!! It has been 5 years since that hidious disaster referred to as Van Halen 3. Peace

I've read/heard in the past that Mikey is just a hired hand in the band. He shows up when told to, plays a couple bass lines and tours. So I doubt he would be able to have much effect on getting the band out of hiatus. I don't know its all hearsay really. I think Hagar would be a likely choice to come back except that Ed and Sam practically duked it out before he left/got fired. Of course I heard Ed and Dave did too under the stage at the VMAs. Steve Perry would be a good choice vocally IMHO. as far as his style goes, Van Halen is a complete 180 from anything he did with Journey did. Be interesting to hear though I think.

My thoughts are that Mikey is trying to help VH...in fact, he's the ONLY one trying to get the band back on the road.
He sees Sammy as their best bet and from what I have heard is really pushing for his return.
But if no one's listening to him, then no one's listening.

It comes from a reliable source - a guitarist in a LA band I've dealt with for some time, but never in relation to anything VH related.

He mailed me out of the blue with this....

blah blah blah..."...Also, had sushi the other night and sat next to Eddie Van Halen.
Had a nice long conversation about what he is planning to do next.
He said he is looking for a Joe Cocker type of singer..."

Mmmm....take that for whatever it's worth, but it adds to the speculation out there...

I remember Ed saying that when he first wrote the music for "Right Now" that he had always invisioned Joe Cocker singing it. He said that he wished that it had more of a "Feelin' Alright" type of groove to it. It seems like that idea has been floating around in Ed's head for a while now.

EVH wants a bluesy singer. All the DLR fans say he should pursue his blues instincts (I'm in this camp).
It sounds to me like all we need to have THE REAL VAN HALEN back together is some intervention...on all levels. Know what I mean??

There is no way you can complain about Dave's voice if you are seriously considering Joe Cocker. Joe Cocker makes Sammy seem like Pavorotti. Maybe Ed has been hitting the Sake too much.

I think it would be interesting to see MA take over the vocals, the guy CAN sing as he has proven many times in the past. He may not have the exact look of a front man... but hey, I just want VH back again. I'm a fan of both the Dave era and Sammy era, so if they atleast pick one of those guys I am happy. I am still one of the believers that if the Cherone line up was given a fair shake then it may have done a little better after VHIII. But with the state the music industry is in right now, we need Van Halen.
