I truly Believe Sammy will be Back for the following reasons:

    1. Mike is loved by both Ed/Al and by Sammy. I'm sure it is highly possible Mike has brought the 2 parties together. They would of both respected Mike's inititives.

    2. After the Sam & Dave, all the evidence tends to suggest Dave has NO chance on reuniting with ED. I seemed to pick up on many negative vibes from Roth. Many lies, and absolutely no proof that a reconciliation was possible.

    3. I think Sammy truly likes Eddie and Alex, where Dave does not. I think Sammy was hurt over their VH breakup...and when people are hurt it shows they care...and shows that they have a inspiration of patch things up.

    4. Sammy fits more into VH's present musical climate...and I think Eddie and Dave have grown apart musically. There are accounts that they had major problems working together in 2000.

    5. Sammy fans will generate more revenue than the Dave fans, not that they out number Dave fans...just that more of them are younger and still in "circulation"

    6. Alex Van Halen hates Roth...this is documented going way back to 1982...when it is highly rumoured Roth slept with Alex's fiance right before they tied the knot.

    7. Eddie Van Halen hates Roth because he takes too much of the spotlight away from him (the greatest rock guitarist in the world) when they are on stage together. Eddie feels it isn't fair.

    8. I don't think Eddie can bare to work with somebody at the age he's at, who is egotisical and who may irritate him.

    9. I think Eddie's problems with Hagar can easily and quickly be mended over a couple of iced teas.

    Just my thoughts/predictions!!!!

    As posted on melodicrock.com

This pretty much idicates that Sammy is back with Van Halen.
    __________________________________________________
SAMMY CALLS GARY & VAN HALEN TRIED WITH DAVE:
The Sammy Hagar & David Lee Roth tour takes another unforeseen turn for this week's August 28 gig in Boston. Van Halen's most recently jettisoned vocalist Gary Cherone will join Sammy Hagar for his encore, singing one of Van Halen's Sammy era tunes (likely to be Dreams a source tells me). Also joining in will be Michael Anthony on bass. Sammy was the one who put the ca'l into Gary, who readily accepted the invitation. And the very latest Van Halen news suggests things are building towards a reconciliation with Sammy Hagar. To date there has been no direct contact between Eddie Van Halen and Sammy, although there are forces at work trying to make this to happen - one of whom is Michael Anthony. In the latest behind the scenes news to be revealed, it seems that Van Halen attempted working with David Lee Roth on 3 separate occasions since Cherone left in 1998. The rumors of Dave at the 5150 Studios were in fact correct, but the results were not to Eddie's liking and hence no reunion was permanent.

In the meantime, Sammy Hagar's new album Not For Sale is in the can and is being lined up for release. The October 1 release is not yet Officially confirmed.
What is understood, need not be discussed.

I don't agree with this point. Kids growing up today are more likely to hear "Aint Talking Bout Love" or any other DLR stuff on classic radio than they are any Van Hagar tune. Dave would absolutely bring in more revenue than Sammy on a reunion tour cause folks like myself who think that VH ended in 1984 aren't going to go otherwise. Plus lots of people have never seen Dave and Edddie on stage together, myself included and that is a major draw. Sammys last tour was what, 1997? Dave, at least, is recognized as an original. I just don't see kids who are into Tool, Rage, Linkin Park, whoever, getting into the Sammy hits as much as the agressive nature of Dave's material.

The point here guys is this:

    It's not what should happen...
    It's not what is possible...

I am trying to analysis the REALITY of the situation that the band finds itself in. The fact that Ed & Al could "bum-buddy" it better with Sammy than Dave...IS...going to make a difference.
It shouldn't in a perfect world...but we don't live in one.

If I had to bet money on the future, although I am a huge Dave fan, and have witnessed the religious experiences of 10 Dave era live shows, the reality bears out a Sammy return at this stage is much more likely and PROBABLE than a Dave one.

Please offer me factual statements that show Roth could return at this stage...I bet you can't come up with one.

As far as Sammy reunion making more money...what I am referring to is the fact that fans that bought the 4 Sam era Albums and attended those shows are in majority in their late twenties, without the weight of a wife and kids...ie...more freedom to see shows.

The Dave fans are all in their late 30's and early 40's with mortgages, irritating wifes and the pressure of paying for their kid's college educations...not a great demographic to attract ticket buyers.

You also have to remember that Roth fans like you guys are in such a small minority it isn't funny, you are fanatics, and fanatics do not under any circumstances control overall statistics.

    Sorry more the reality check.

Would YOU want to work with someone you don't get along with? Especially if you thought the product wasn't up to par? You can point to all kinds of bands with conflict that reunited, and NONE of them were successful with other line-ups the way VH was. So why SHOULD Ed do that to himself?

And I also don't agree with #5, the money thing. I think a DLR reunion would generate a LOT more money than a Sam reunion, at least at first. If it sucked, it would die down after the first album/tour/whatever, but initially it would make some money. I see a lot more Roth fans stating they wouldn't buy into a Sammy reunion, but I have yet to see a Sam era fan that would not buy into a Dave reunion, again, at least at first. Many, if not MOST, Sam era fans are also Dave era fans, and would purchase an album and concert tickets, even if out of mere curiosity. But it doesn't work the other way quite as well. It's only been 6 years since Sam was in, not 18.

Here are a couple of reasons why VH could choose Dave:

    Dave Reunion: $70-$90 Million grossed

Sammy Reunion: $30 Million grossed. (I view a Van Hagar reunion as a success, but not a blockbuster. Much along the lines of the current Rush tour which is averaging 15K a night and is expected to gross $30 Million.)

You are not answering my question...I never said a Dave re-union isn't a great idea...I asked...offer proof that a Dave Re-union can happen given the present VH climate...
