Is Ed Bitter?

Is Ed bitter? It sure seems like it. I'm a little surprised we didn't get some kind of holiday message. Then again, I probably shouldn't be surprised, it doesn't seem like they are motivated enough to post a message about anything. Well I guess we did get the we're shutting down the pleasure dome, Happy Holidays message.

Maybe Ed feels like the fans drove Gary out of the band? It seems like he has tried to make a deal with Dave but can't and Sam has no interest in coming back. So perhaps Ed is bitter and has just given up? Very Odd.

Oh well, if you read this Ed, I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas, and Happy and Healthy New Year. Thanks for providing the soundtrack for the last 23 years of my life.

Chris, I'm suprised you ask this question. Being in tune with the VH scene as you are surely you already know the answer.

For those who don't know it,.........

No, Eddie Van Halen does not give a flying fuck about you, or us. After all he is EDDIE FUCKING VAN HALEN, and he plays guitar. WE are Joe Blow. HE is married to Valerie Bertinelli, WE are not.

He has more money than most of us, plays a guitar MUCH better than any of us EVER WILL, and he's having sex with Valerie Bertinelli.

Is Ed bitter? You bet he is. VHIII sold less than half a million copies, and played to less than half full arenas during the subsequent tour.
Bon Jovi is a bigger draw in Europe than VH, enough of a reason for anyone to be upset. Bon Jovi outselling VH???? Where's my fucking gun? Some Europeans need to be brutally murdered in the name of rock 'n roll.

If I was Eddie, I WOULD hang it up. The rock scene is crap right now (Creed) and redundant music (Tool, Godsmack, Sevendust) is in control.
The great unwashed prefers crap (Creed, Creed and Creed), so let them have it. Tool out.

Well Tool, I guess I always hope for the best in people. Maybe you're right. I've never met the man in person, in interviews he usually seems pretty down to earth. The only time I've seem him get a little nasty is when the inevitable question of Dave returning comes up.

The more I think about it, the more I believe that the guys are just a product of an era that didn't have all this technology, and they just refuse to embrace the changes. Maybe they feel like it's more of a responsibility than they are willing to take on.
